Football special event game?
gameshoes3003
I know it's a little late for football since the Superbowl just passed. But I don't care!
Just like the Christmas special thingy where you talk to a dude to go to this arena....... Instead of a general arena, you're summoned to a pseudo-football field!!!!!!!
Yeah, since you guys probably absolutely know or have some idea of football.... here's the skills.
There'll be one really special skill for each class.
The general....
Pass Football: 10 energy, 1 second casting, instant recharge. Skill. Throw football to target other ally. The football travels 200% than arrows at the maximum distance, 150% slower at 3/4 distance, and you get the point........
Tackle: 5 energy, 3/4 second casting, 5 second recharge. Skill. Tackle touched target foe. That foe is knock-downed. (Therefore... first down, second down, third down...)
Block Pass (or whatever other name): 10 energy, 3/4 second casting, 10 second recharge. Hex Spell. Target touched foe has a 30% chance to catch the football.
Run/Sprint, whatever!: 5 energy, instant cast, 20 second recharge. Stance. For 10 seconds, you run 25% faster. If on defense, you run 33% faster for 9 seconds.
Intercept: 10 energy, instant cast, 20 second recharge. Stance. If in the path of the football, you have a 60% chance to intercept it.
Block: 5 energy, 1/4 second casting, 10 second recharge. Hex spell. For 5 seconds, you and target touched foe move 50% slower. This hex ends if you are not adjacent of the foe, and any speed-up effects do not effect you. (Therefore you cannot hex someone then use Run/Sprint)
Juke (that's the thing right?): 10 energy, instant casting, 20 second recharge. For 5 seconds, you have a 50% chance to block tackles.
KICKING/PUNTING SKILLS ONLY
Kick: No energy, no casting, no recharge. Skill. Attack target football with a kick that deals +20 damage than a melee attack. If you deal 50 damage, it goes so far down... and so on.. The armor of the ball will be VERY weak so you shouldn't be getting a 1 dmg.... If it does too much, it's out...
Then the specials...
Warrior:
Bash: 10 energy, 3/4 second casting, 15 second recharge. Skill. Target touched foe is tackled and knock-downed, but has a 20% chance of fumbling the football. This cannot be blocked by Jukes.
Paragon:
"FASTER!": 15 energy, instant casting, 25 second recharge. Shout. You and all allies around you move 15% faster for 10 seconds. Stances may add-on to the speed.
Dervish:
Holy Catch: 5 energy, instant casting, 10 second recharge. Enchantment. For 5 seconds, you will always catch the balls, and any foe adjacent to you cannot intercept the ball.
Ranger:
Quick Interception: 15 energy, instant casting, 20 second recharge. Stance. For 3 seconds, you have a 90% chance of intercepting the football if you are in its path. If you do intercept the football, you run 10% faster for 5 seconds.
Assassin:
Tricky Trip: 15 energy, 3/4 casting, 25 second recharge. Skill. Target touched foe is tripped and is knock-downed. This has a 30% chance of knocking-down all adjacent foes.
Monk:
Divine Feet: 25 energy, 1 second casting, 30 second recharge. Enchantment Spell. Target other ally runs 50% faster for 5 seconds. This has half the normal spell range.
Necromancer:
Rotting Legs: 25 energy, 2 second casting, 30 second recharge. Hex Spell. Target foe and all adjacent foes to the target are hexed, and move 66% slower for 8 seconds. Once this hex ends those foes are crippled for 1 second. This has half the normal spell range.
Mesmer:
Flashing Eyes: 10 energy, 1 second casting, 30 second recharge. Hex Spell. Target foe has a 10% chance of catching the football. If the foe has possession of the ball, that foe has a 40% chance of making a successful throw.
Ritualist:
Spirit Block: 20 energy, 2 second casting, 45 second recharge. Weapon Spell. Summon spirits that follow you. These spirits have a 90% chance to block attacks for 10 seconds.
Elementalist:
Steady Ground: 5 energy, 1/4 second casting, 15 second recharge. Target ally cannot be knock-down for 5 seconds. This has half the normal spell range.
Some rules......
Make a team of 8-12 (whatever is necessary) then enter the competition! For each win you gain 3 "Gamer-Points". The timer is 10 minutes. I think that there shouldn't be field goals, or extra point kicks. To get the extra point, you'll have to make a another touchdown thingy like a 3 point conversion, but it's 1 point.
To do a running play, just use the pass function to the guy behind you.
Before you enter the game, you can draw out "game plays" to use in the game. To view them in game.... press... V!!
When throwing the ball, it'll follow the person's direction like a arrow.. But if that person were to stop or do something funny, they better use a running skills to get back on track.
While the ball is in the air, a "shadow" will follow it and when it's close enough to the ground, a yellow dotted circle will appear around the landing site.
8 players max may observe a game by pressing B in the arena (if made that way, a tab will say Football Games). But that's only in the arena so it won't get in the way outside of it. I do not see how the observers can really help one team since they will not be allowed to see the plays the teams are using or what they're saying.
When doing a punt/return, use the dang kicking skill. It's like a wild-card so pray for a good number, but not too high.
Then uuuh... the general rules of football apply, like outs, getting tackled in your touchdown zone.... so on.
So..... what do you think of this "fabulous" idea?

Winterclaw
I was thinking a while ago that they should create an all-chapters accessable island that has sports, capture the flag, snowball fights, a casino, etc... and a new subclass that deals with gaming related skills.
gameshoes3003
Well, yeah I was thinking this could be for all games.

Also, if you're that worried about a freakin name that is coincidentally the same with another. Leave your sassy crap out of your brain, and actually think reality.

I don't like American rugby, it's like opening a can ith your teeth.
(sorry, but if you touch it with the hands, it's not football, besides, that thing is not a ball, balls are round, that is oval, people should call things what they really are ¬¬).
I also find football (the thing some poeple call soccer) a bit boring too. I can play it real, but playing it in a game is really pointless.
Instead of that, I would like to see characters swimming and jumping for real, not for an emote, XD.

One thing to say: Narrowminded individual who was born in America.
A.Net will never make events that are only celebrated in 1 part of the world. There's more than just America you know. You're like one of those kids from some interview: "There are nearly 7 billion people on the globe. How many are American?" Answers: I dunno;A billion;half;all of them. Yes, there are some kids...

If they did have somthing like this it would have to be somthing EVERYWHERE knows of/plays. Thats why we had snowball fight. I think the idea is gd but rather than a proper sport i think a-net should have a new one taking in bit of all the other sports of the world .
DeBron
Real football (soccer) would be great.
American football . . . not so much.
I don't care for "football" but I think you have a neat idea. Maybe instead of just football it could be a "field day" of sorts, with lots of different sports available.

First of all you dont need to be rude or insult people.
Second, Americain football is mostly played in ....America. Personaly, I would not want a real life sport implemanted in game. If there would be a sport, I would say soccer, since its a lot more international.

Interesting concept. I also think soccer would better. It's more international.
The Herbalizer
Well football which most of the world play was called football before the americans decided it should be soccer and steal the name football.
american football is only really played in america.
real football is played throughout the world.
why add a sport played in one area and not particularly liked by rest of the world.
if anything real football should be added but it wont so it doesnt matter
not just americans play gw and i dont think they would be too keen on playing american football games. hence why american football computer games arnt a big hit in the rest of the world, well in europe anyway.

agreed with seanedsw28, Halmyr and Diddy bow
international sport would be better. snowball fights are ftw as everyone does them bar people who dont have snow.
forcing one nations sport upon others is ftl.
