high level 4 person missions
quest3d
Anyone remember the missions from the Dragon Festival? The ones that you got from Captian Rujiyo? I don't know about anyone else but I really enjoyed playing the high end missions with a small 4 person party. Another example would be the Last Day Dawns quest, set outside the Frontier Gate in Ascalon.
I like that everyone has a significant part to play. It's something I felt most of Nightfall lacked (at least up until RoT) It's quite easy to let Hero's/Henchie's do most of the work.
Those sorts of 4 person party missions is something I'd like to see alot more of in a future chapter. I'm curious to see if other people would to, or not.

This would be pretty fun if you could get a good PUG but with the new hero system, what is the point?
I would love to see something like this. I had a lot of fun trying to kill hordes of titans with a small group. The only problem I see with this idea is the ability for most people to just take their best heroes and complete the mission rather than spend half an hour or more trying to get a balanced group together.

Sounds like fun, and I don't see how the ability to use heroes in such a mission is somehow a "problem." Some of us don't PUG, deal with it.

Northern Wall Hard Mode?

/signed - I personally loved the Titan quests and the Dragon Festival quests and think a permanent addition like this would add a very nice aspect to the game.

The only problem that I see is that putting a group together would be rather difficult. It's not very common for people to do Last Day Dawns. Sure you see them, but you never really see a lot of people doing it there.

There are many 'lost places' in Prophecies nobody goes to, specially in Maguuma Jungle, South Kryta and Crystal Dessert.
Thy could add some missiones over there. There is a precious Balthazar temple in the middle of Maguuma and a far away lake that looks perfect to dive jump.
Would be great to add things so people have to go there and see those places.

I do think this is a fun idea.

BUT I hate freakin' heroes so much - it just won't work because of them
P.S Heroes ruined PvE

Just play regular places 4-man, instead of the regular 8-man allowed. I don't bother going with more than 3 others when I do most PvE stuff.
lightblade
Uh...this kind of thing already exist! It's called Shadow Nexus

High level 4 man missions = the last 2 Titan Quests in Tyria!
We have two and no one does them. I like the idea, but I would suspect Anet would be worried any new ones go the same way as they did.
If they introduces these, they should not be part of the storyline to completing the game. They should be optional and external.
This way its not frustrating if you cant get a party for them like the Titan Quests.

Yes, Shadow nexus.

It already exists in certain OPTIONAL quests (like last days dawn and those dragonfest ones). Making them be a required part in the next campaign would be pretty bad because...
4 man party size severely limits creativity in a build. Healer (rt or monk), tank (war), and 2 ranged damage dealers (ele, ranger, necro). Although that is the simpleton way to play GW (nuker + healer + tank), it is what is usually accepted for a 4 man party.
The problem is, it is really impossible to play support characters (paragon, mesmer, etc) when there is no other players to support. For example, paragon shouts become much less effective when they only affect 3 other people.

maybe anet could put the monsters in these places with 2 elite skills and skills that counter the usual 4 man build

The simple fact is that you need atleast one real monk to keep the king alive. The king is the thorn in LDDs.
You can sneek around the back and go from a 6 or 8 party location, and take out the Titans one at a time, but the minute you activate the king its stuffed.
I've also tried with a PUG going from both a 6 and 8 party location, but it works fine until the king moves, or it takes that long to walk there people bugger off.
But anyway, this is detracting from the OP'ers idea. My point was simply that people may do the 4 party quests at first, but once a new campaign is released, they will get abandoned and gather dust. The someone will come along and want to do them, and they cant.
