Ok, now that the title has your attention, I have a question.

I was in the Zaishen Elite the other day and I joined a group with a Necro. Once we warped into the battle I saw that she was naked (well, as naked as you can get in GW). We had an inept team (me included) and lost the battle. We tried several more battles and won a few but lost more than we won.

The necro was getting killed pretty quickly each time without armor protection, so I asked her to put on some armor. The only reply she would give me was:
"my skills require me to use my scar pattern, so I don't use armor"

Huh? Is there any truth to this? I play a necro and I thought the scar pattern was just the headpiece for Necros. Is there a legit Necro build that requires you to be naked? Or was she just trying to be slutty like all the other hormone driven teens in GW.

ROFL!

There's actually an "armor" you can wear that leaves you naked? LOL, I learn something new everyday!

And I thought my NF Elementalist needed more clothes.

I always hated that those were the only +energy options for Prophecies, so glad we can choose look and function separately in the newer chapters.

QFT. Previously, your only option for tats benefits with clothing was FoW. Ummm...yeah. Otherwise, you ran around in the infamous "monk diaper".

Well, like I said I have a Necro, but I've never even seen that "armor" offered at the crafters. My Necro is Canthan however and I bought her armor at Kaineng, so it must be a Prophecies only armor.

My Necro also has 62 energy thru her armor stats and additional weapon stats and that's enough for my skills.

Yes, I have the monk insignia armor and it looks ugly on my male monk.

It was the armor I was wearing when I got infused, and its high energy stats have me hanging on to it. One of these days I'll probably get a decent Factions set of armor together as it looks much better.

I wish they would at least let you dye that stupid tunic thingie.

Well I finally got rid of my "monk diaper" armor.

The basic AC60 armor in Nightfall lets you add both insignias and runes - and these all stack. So you can get decent looking armor and still wind up with the same energy bonuses the tat armor gave you.

The only drawback (other than the gold/material cost) was that I had to do an infusion run again. Of course you can skip that as long as you stay out of the Southern Shiverpeaks region.

Armor has come a long way from Prophecies. In Prophecies, if you wanted "Benefit A", you had to wear "Style A", even if you thought it was ugly. IN Factions, the improvement was to have each armor crafter offer one Style, but you could choose which Benefit was on it. In Nightfall, we go even further. Each armor crafter offers one Style (or in some cases 2 styles, Istani and Sunspear) and you can buy the Benefit separately as Insignias. Now that most insignias have fallen to a reasonable price point, it's not terribly expensive and I might actually pick up a set of 15k Sunspear for Maya. (Like she really needs more armor!)
