Bring back the opening theme!
Midnight Harmony
I'm sure this has been said many times, but I really do miss the original opening theme for Prophecies, and the old loading screen which showed the campfire. I'd love to see them return, or at least just the music, because the Nightfall background/music is grating.
So, who's with me? Sign this petition to bring old memories back to reality! (if you even know what I'm talking about)

I think its good to have the startup and character screen at the current chapter

If i am correct the login screen cycles through the themes for each chapter. I also love the original opening theme but it is still there
And they already stated somethign about why they cant allow the old login screen (though i may be confusing this with the login screen choice idea)

I think he may be confusing it with the in-game store. When you select a chapter it plays the music for that chapter.
Otherwise I have no idea.

I too would like to see the original backdrop, and it's quite obvious it can't be the original backdrop, meaning only four characters shown at a time. I suppose they could optimize it so you could view your character from all angles as they do now, but I feel as though this feature wouldn't be high on ANet's list. Maybe when all the chapters are released, they'll give the option of what background to choose?

You can get the music back yourself. Buy the Prophecies soundtrack from DirectSong, do a small edit to the .ds file included and there you have it.

If you leave it running for awhile it gos through the songs usually from Nightfall Theme - random profession themes -Factions Theme - random profession themes - Prophecies Theme and back again. It was even once noted by Gaile after a poster pointed it out.

So, there ya go.
It would be nice to make it random, depending on the chapter(s) owned.
But, from ANet's perscpective, it's advertising new content.

That first campfire had enough real estate for 4 toons. There just isn't enough room for those of us who have 10+ toons. Or, I suppose you could make it look like a class fieldtrip photo

However the background graphics do NOT cycle, they are specifically changed for each chapter

guildwars.ds - it's not a game file. All it does is control which music plays where, and is in no way part of the client. (You can even disable directsong ingame, as I have, if you wish.)

Send a whisper in game and I believe we can make it work for you.

Right, had someone from Guru whisper me in game and it worked fine for him, so here's how you do it. But first, here is what DirectSong says about editing their file:
DO NOT EDIT! This file will be clobbered the next time you download a Guild Wars expansion Pak or soundtrack from DirectSong.com.
(Okay, if you do want to edit it, then just be aware that it could be clobbered. So backup your changes, as well as the original. Also! Making changes to this file is not supported in any way by DirectSong or ArenaNet. The only advice you would get support-wise would be to redownload a version known to work. So there.)
Open the GuildWars.ds file from where you installed your DirectSong tracks. Look for a line that starts with loginza. That is the old Prophecies opening theme music. The line loginnf is the current Nightfall theme. So quite simply, switch the two letters on those lines around so that the old Prophecies track line starts with loginnf and the Nightfall music line with loginza.
Note that you won't most likely have the loginnf line at all in your file if you do not have any Nightfall DirectSong tracks installed. You can still change the loginza to loginnf and not worry about editing a second line.
After this save the file and you have Prophecies theme playing instead of Nightfall music at the login screen.

I think maybe instead of what your saying changing it back to Prophecies. It would be nice if they made a panel that showed an option for ALL 3 of the campaign backrounds-and you could select the one you'd like.
