i propose a scholar profession. the attributes the scholar will have will be intelligence, which would allow you to use skills and studies based on intellectual keeness,book mastery, which would increase the damage done by your spellbooks and studying, allowing you to use studies similar to the one below

ex.
agility study
study
your entire party has a 75-99% chance to evade enemy attacks for ?? seconds (attribute: intelligence)


the armor for the scholar would look like the tyrian monk armor, except with more of a robe look to it and different attribute power-ups,and the head armor would be bifocals


the scholars chosen weapon would be the spellbook, i no it sounds stupid, but its cool. it would make all attacks look similar to the basic elementalist skills for fire earth wind and water but they would only be like normal attacks with fire damage, earth damage, wind damage, ect.

I do think it is a inovating and unique idea. However, just don't feel it is pratical or fit with the overall theme of GW that well (I could be wrong, but with out any play-testing, its hard to tell if it will be good or not). While most proffesions have branching functions, and wear more than one hat (a Warrior could be a tanker or a melee spiker... etc), they are still specific in one field or two, and the combination of them is what make it fun. I think allowing mixing and matching of those attribute might kill that ascept. Also it won't run well with the free-choosing 2ndary we now have.

Its a good start, but I would say no just because it sound too "different"

Try checking the Sage in RO to get some inspiration^^!
Try these attribute:

Intelligence(Primary)-For each 8 ranks of Intelligence you are able to cast spells simultaneously (when you reach the Max for Int. you can use 3 spells!). Specializes in mimicing spells and using there full potential.

Numerology/Graphology-Increase damage dealt while using Measures/Rulers and Books/Pens and using Numerals and Letters to deal Shadow Damage.

Reading/Study-Specializes in Scanning enemy status, increasing you and your allies' damage, and decreasing energy cost in spells.

Dowsing-Specializes in using Pendulums, Divination or causing Unconditional Damage.

and I don't find the Spellbook Weapon Stupid I find it Unique.
