Monsters dupilcating
Zazoo
I dont know who else ahs experianced this but last night I was playing the gate of pain mission and some of the monsters would duplicate themselves.
At first I thought I was imagining it but I later checked 4 or 5 in the group im aggroing and kill the, for example, spear of torment and where it dies there is another full health one.
Was happening at least once or twice per group and it certainly did not happen when I did the mission with my Assassin.
Has anyone else been experiancing this?

Call to Torment = replication of the monster in 5 seconds.

Pray that you don't get swarmed at a rez shrine. Happened to me today, and I got to 60% DP in record time. Finally cleared them all after almost an hour with max DP.
I really really hate those Torment monsters, but it's so fun when you finally beat the group that started as 5 and became 30 or so.

some demons start casting it at half health, most of the time the demons will forget until their 1/4 health and thats when you have to finish them or else.

Simple tip: Do NOT use AoE.
Doing so will only serve to trigger more enemies to be created. It's much smarter to focus attacks on one target at a time.

The above must be what im doing since with my sin I had focus damage only.
Ill try it again tonight and see what happens without any AoE damage.

What I find totally annoying about this skill is when the Arms of Insanity (Rangers) use this skill, because either right before Call of Torment or right after it they hit whirling defense or some other skill that prevents them from taking damage. No way are you gonna be able to take him down now.
I started with 2 stinkin Arms of Insanity and wound up with 10, the good news in all this is that the newly made monsters seem to get stupidier with every new generation ala Multiplicity with Michael Keaton.

I seen a case where 5 monsters turned into 15 in matter of minutes. I usually forget to kill off one of the monster that is dying. Than they start to clone themself and make more enemies.

1. Blackout stop the skill from activating
2. Monster activing the skill take double damage, spike damage easily kills it in 2 seconds.
3. This is another reason why many players like hero/henchmen more. Because you can call target on the demon activing the skill and have everyone on the team attack on it.

It's this, a big pain in the ass: [wiki]Call to the Torment[/wiki].

Call to the Torment usually isn't a problem for the caster torments, they have low armor and die fast. If they use Call to Torment (meaning they take double damage), they usually get killed right away. Call to Torment can be dangerous on the Warrior, Paragon, Ranger, and sometimes Dervish torments.
It's probably easiest to kill all the caster torments first. You don't want to risk spawning a few ranger or warrior torments. Make sure you save a mini-spike to finish the non-caster torments off if they use Call to the Torment. Lightbringer's Gaze works fairly well. Be careful of the ranger torments using a stance right before Call to the Torment, use Lightbringers Gaze or some anti-stance skill to kill them. Do not nuke unless your nuke will kill them.

Well i tried it again yesterday taking out the aoe and had minimal problems.
I dont think i had a single duplicated monster.
What I cant believe is that i missed that ability completely when I finished the campain with my sin.
Once again thanks for the comments.

Ahh, I had always wondered what that skill did and was too lazy to go check it on GuildWiki. I just always assumed some of the melee torment creatures made copies of them selfs and I left them to last and pure focus fire.
In PvE I still say the following fixes almost any situation:
If something is killing you, kill it first.
If something is keeping you from killing it, kill it first.
Watch what is damaging you most, kill it first.
If something is keeping you from killing it, kill it first.
Having melee mobs create copies killed me, the casters kept me from focusing fire and killing the melee mobs so I killed them. Then the monks, then the melee. it didn't matter what the skill did, I just knew they would replicate.
Now I'll make sure I save an interrupt for that skill on the melee's - I just assumed it was like the titans where when they died new ones took their place until you got to a certain point.
edit: oh well, just read that it can not be interrupted so no change to what I was doing before.
