New Race
whitemantle24
Forgive me if the idea is stupid, but I was thinking that along with having new professions, the new campaign would allow players to choose their own race. Each race could have a strength and weakness, for example an elf could have higher energy, but less weapon damage, or a giant could have greater damage but slower casting. Please respond with other ideas about other races. I'd be interested to know.

That may be nice like your idea alot, I was thinking of new races for a long time already hihi^^.

First, I think this thread goes under the Sardelac Sanitarium, not the Concept Class sub-forum.
Many threads there have been devoted to this topic. You'll find the vast majority of Guild Wars players will say no. They argue that being a human-only RPG is one of the defining characteristucs of Guild Wars, as opposed to other fantasy MMORPGs. I'm neutral on the issue. Try asking this question in the Sardelac Sanitarium.

to many other games in NC have other races. I say more classes and less having to deal with races.

Indeed. I agee with The General Of The Blade and nebojats.
One, this would be something to be spoken about in Sardelac Sanitarium.
Two, Races with different weaknesses also will leave people unhappy about their favorite race being weaker than another one in different ways.
So keeping the Human Race Only would have my vote. Allowing more classes for humans seems to be much more fun than races with the same classes or races that are assigned certain classes that you want other races to have.
Good Day.

HEY!!!!!!
HEY!!!!!!
YOU!!!!! Yeah, you. The person scrolling down the page to write your response. Can we not have more replies to this idea? An idea which isn't about concept classes yet is in the concept class sub-forum? There are an infinite number of identical threads in the Sardelac Sanitarium, which is where this thread should be. They're not on the first couple of pages, because they've sunk to obscurity. But if you want to revive them in the Sardelac Sanitarium, feel free to.

if we have different races this game will end up like a final fantasy game, not basing on the game, but when they did eleven they had little midgets (taru tarus)everywhere running around gnawing at your ankles. i already play enough games where you play an elf.

I am not sure if I want races with advantages or disadvantages in GW, I like Actionjack's alternate core idea more.
Asside from that forget all the orcs, elves, halflings(and hobbits) I want reptile races I love Argonians, Iksar and stuff they are much cooler than any of those meekskins.

my varaint of the ideas is to have Demons and Angels. Not as professions, but as Other versions of the professions we have.
but then they would have to fix the *holy* and *Dark* damage, or else it would be fatal.

whoa... that looks damn good.
Also, Holy damage and Shadow damage don't necssarily ignore armor as far as I can tell:

The problem with new classes like this, is that it gives a truely unfair advantage. While its easily possible to beat a factions+proph+NF ele with just a proph ele, one side haveing a large energy bonus would really unballence it. Same with anything else, really. Warrs (excludeing wammos), arnt exactly the caster class, so all of them would go for giants, ect. Its a nice idea if everyone had the option...but it would just end up with everyone being elves for eles, ect, and the people without it...would be screwed.

If I got a penny for every suggestion like this....Well, I'd porbably have less then a dollar, but oh well, you get the point. Been suggested before many times.
