I was wondering how high rated guilds monks do when running an infuse build, they seems to have insane reflexes.
Is this a matter of fast-targeting your allies? I actually never had to do this, but I don't monk in pvp much...
Currently i'm trying a 0-2-5-8 // .-3-6-9 setup but its quite difficult to learn using it.
Any tips?

Every good monk I know hovers over the party window with the mouse to quickly select members, and activates skills with the other hand which ideally doesn't have to move anywhere to cast skills 1-8 or kite due to a customized keymapping configuration. (See F11)

I have infuse bound to E, which is just above my index finger when using WASD to move. This means from the moment of seeing who they are going to spike and selecting them it takes a minimal time to hit that key.
The biggest thing is seeing who they are going to spike before the spike actually hits. You can do this by trying to see which way they are facing as they cast, but this can be tricky due to positioning. The other more reliable way is looking at 'tells' on the spike target. For example: Oppressive Gaze spike will put weakness on the spike target, most caster spikes will strip any enchantments on them, looking for anyone who wands the target, looking who on your radar is actually in range for the to spike... and so on.
Above all, as mentioned, practice.

I have an 8-button mouse, two buttons which are right under my thumb.
I also hover over the party window while scrolling up and down using those two buttons.

I have my 1-4, and Q, W, E, R as my skill numbers, and keep my left hand there just about all the time. (Infuse on 4)
Right Hand is spread across arrow keys, and numpad.
I personally found it easier infusing by pressed the party member's number, aposed to clicking their name.

I would play around with your UI and see what feels more comfortable for you and when infuseing it is or practice like others said.
Ismoke

Above all, as mentioned, practice. JR I love your icon!
I also have a similar set up.. 1-4 for skill 1-4, and F, E, Q, and Shift as skills 5-8.

I still have my skills set up from 1-8 (been to lazy to change it so I just learned to play it) I always have infuse on 3 because it is the quickest for me to get to and I use the party window to click the target. I've got it down pretty good, but I agree that practicing with your preffered set up is the best way to go.

thanks a lot to all of you, I will practice and try to improve to get such godly reflexes ^^
I thought the quickest way to select the guy being spiked was to hit a key assigned to his number, what do you guys think?

Don't forget the most important part of being an infuser: having a strong ISP with a fast and reliable connection, lol.

I have my skills set to the default 1-8, with infuse on 1 or 2. Whenever I see they're going to spike, I hover my mouse over the party window and put one finger on the infuse button and another finger on dark escape (if I'm /A that is) in case I'm being spiked. You can usually tell when you're being the target, but I do it anyway for security:P
Good preprotting also makes infusing a whole lot easier.
But infuse seems to be replaced by Healer's Boon+Heal other at the moment.

Have suffered to living in the midle of nowhere with a stoneage connection a couple of times, yes
Although, using standard key layout, with infuse on 5, touch on 4 and other basic heals on 1-3. Been thinking of changing it for a long time, and here sure are some good models

Using your mouse and rolling over the party screen is kind of bad cause u watch the red going down...
I'm used to 1st person shooters so I am way faster with my mouse and the 1-8(weapon select) buttons then any other combination...
I use the standard 1-8 default and tried the 1234qwer combintation... but its hard to get used to something else...
Just get a good skill setup, get important skills on buttons ure on nearly all the time and the less important on other buttons (for example I always get Return/Dark Escape/Hex Breaker/Channeling etc. on number 8)
Most important about infusing is the enviorement... and radar, radar is very important... watch the movement of the enemies and which way they face... Especially on fake spikes its important, Gaze 1 Spike 2, when they starting to face some1 else...
And like every1 else says: practise, cant argue with that...

Whenever Ive played as an infuser, for me Ive found it best to bind [skill]infuse health[/skill] to a key nearby whatever you use for movement. ( if you use WASD, bind it to Q or E ) and then just hover your mouse around the middle of the party window. that way you can easily infuse in the split second its needed ( with practice.... )

Try target-locking one of the most obvious spikers. A Shadow Prison warrior or Blood Necro as example.
To do this, tab through the enemy team untill you see your targettee. Then, if you cast a heal on an ally, press your [target next foe] and after that [target previous foe] you'll get the target you selected with your first tab.
Now, if you locked onto a target, just wait till you see a spike skill come up, and get ready to infuse. The rest is just click and press your infuse. (aka practice.)

A tip for practicing being an infuser is to go into RA with only 2 skills:
[skill]Infuse Health[/skill][skill]Healing Touch[/skill]
Just don't let your team know. This will allow you to practice 3 things:How to Kite How to manage energy When to Infuse

I hope this isn't entirely off topic but how do you assign party members to certain keys?
Oren The Destroyer
It is under controls, Targeting, Party members 1-12, though where the hell do you have 12 people? (other than deep/urgoz)
I have default setup, but I have been infusing for longer than I care to remember. It just takes ALOT of practice. Also, what works for some doesn't work for all, so find what works best for you. However, what the previous posters have said are good guidelines, and will help you get though.

Party allies such as Mhenlo, Togo, etc. will be auto-assigned to the slots 9/10/11/12 (I numpad 0-9 and * for 10, - for 11, + for 12)

Personally until got a G15 keyboard (which i now have each party member macro and it will hit infuse the very sencond after ) i just hovered over the party screen and hit the 3 button.

Yeah, that's how I heal - select member with right hand on mouse, hit skills with left, kite by clicking on ground. I feel like I probably should have a key for each party member and learn to move with WASD, but I don't really PvP enough to make it worth my while. In PvE much of the time there are also allies to think about, which makes the mouse your friend.

Is that actually allowed? Last thing I heard about the G15 was that macros weren't allowed.
