Rits in DoA

Is there any chance of getting my ritualist through the DoA? I know there's not a whole lot of flexibility in terms of PUGs but I really don't want to run my warrior through NF just so he can be an OF tank.

I can see weapons spells being useful but the majority of people just don't understand how they work (or how ritualists work for that matter).

If anyone knows any good builds for the various areas of DoA then please share them!

Only way a rit might work is in place of a monk and that's if the rits healing can be more efficient the weapon upgrade spells that rits have, have no use in doa.

Rits are awsome in the GoA. They can serve as the Bip and also bring back up healing which can come in handy quite often in the Gloom or Foundry. One of my guildies loves playing his RT in GoA. Also they can act as the healer in a 3 man trapper group. they can set up spirits to draw the golems attentions. Have fun and i would definitly reccomend brining your RT up.

Rits have the potential to be very useful in DoA (notice the theorizing in the Mallyx thread that rits might be a key to beating him). The problem, as I'm sure you know, is convicing a PUG to take you. My advice is it's definitely worth a go if you have at least a couple of friends who will join you and don't mind playing with a rit. If you know you're going to be relying completely on PUGs, I'd regretfully have to advise you to save yourself the headache.

I will say this much: if rits do end up being key to defeating Mallyx, I can see a few intrepid (and profit-minded) souls grinding their rits through the first 4 legs of DoA and then charging PUGs for their help with the Citadel. Not that this would be a great outcome, but some people would be sure to look on it as just payback for all the disdain rits have gotten from DoA PUGs.

Yeah the convincing of the pugs is the hardest part. If you can show its potential to some friends who decide its worth trying out, you'll probably get round the entire place ready to beat Mallyx. Earthbind is pretty useful i guess.

Splinter Weapon has proven be be ridiculously effective (as i screenied in the R/Me farm trapper thread). Been as 3 of them on 3 Rangers can instantly wipe out 18 Stygian foes... it has potential to get through Stygian Veil quickly too.

A bit off topic, but I always find it funny how, after finally getting into a group, some members say something along the lines of "Wow, I never had that mission go so well/easily". Granted, many times it is only the Monk that notices the reduction in workload, but that is still one more player that has seen the value of a Rit in the party.

I do hope that Ritualists become a bit more useful in DoA as, sicko that I am, I actually enjoy playing support classes (even in PUGs).
