There should be a new territory, Australia because there are alot of people in Australia and New Zealand that play Guild Wars. I, myself live in New Zealand and don't get as much fun out of Guild Wars that I can as most people are either sleeping or gone when im logged on. Theres also a big downside to joining guilds because they will think your not active or you can't join any guild events and such. We also cannot join as much events as the time zones are different. There are also only 2 English Servers when there is 3 Asian Servers, this needs to be balanced out as well. So tell me what you think. A new Aussie Server or keep as it is?

I was wondering if they had one, and I guess they don't

I agree, must be hard to do things when everyone is sleeping.

It's a good idea, but will Anet really make another server?

Considering the relatively very low population of aussies/new zealanders in well any game, there is just simply not enough to warrant an aussie server.
However an oceanic type server that would include south asian places might work, altough I think asia have their own servers aswell :\

us aussies lose out =p

It's all down to bandwidth according to Gail, that is why eastern Europeans will never get their own server.

Well theres probably more people in Australia and New Zealand that play than in Taiwan...there's only 13 or something guilds there ffs. I know 28 people just from my school that plays Guild Wars, let alone alot more (like 60 people I know) from Australia in-game.

Have you ever considered moving to yet another server? Have you ever tried the American servers? They may lag less or equally - but Americans are active at all times of the day and night. We're not the most overweight country for no reason - we have tons of people that play their ORPG far too often. I myself have logged a mere 4000 or so hours in the last 21 months

Now I don't know what the time difference is between the UK and Au, but... I do know that the more hardcore American guilds play in the night, and that may line up better with your schedules.

I know on Useless junk I have a lot more late night aussie friends than I do american friends. But in GW I know many very skilled guilds that operate almost exclusively in our small hours, which I believe are your daytime or evening hours.

I could be wrong about the exact time difference, but as I say American players and guilds are always active to some extent (and we ALL speak English on our servers m8s! Of course being American, the extent how well we speak it varies from guild to guild and more than that, person to person, heh)

It still will be ALOT easier for us Aussies and Kiwis to have a server closer to where we live. I, myself log on at night and there's no one on at all...it's much harder.

If ANet won't make one for Eastern Europe, Australia won't get one. Just do what I did and switch to American Servers

I see only 2 choice from aussies.

1) play in a server on the other side of the world( America/Europe)
2) play in a server were not many people speak english ( 3 asian server)

So I' say signed. or at least there own district in one of the Asian server

yeah if we can't get our own server then we should atleast get our own distrct...like how Europe has different districts for different languages.

There are other threads out there that suggest an Australian server, next time do a search for them

Its much easier and better if we had our own server tho... i always miss guild events such as gvg...different time zone but if it were in australia server/district there will be no hassle.

I live in New Zealand and play on the American servers in evenings +12 GMT. I've never found it deserted or empty. There are apparently a lot of sleepless Americans who are on at 3 am. Australasian districts would be deserted however, as others have said. Besides, we'd rarely, if ever, get favor = no UW or FoW. All my friends are on the American server anyhow, so even with an Australasian server I'd still not use it.

I don't know how much a new server would cost or how much to maintian it would cost and that stuff. Maybe Anet could set up a pacific area server for a month or 2 to see how it works out. I know next to nothing about this, but i think if it's going to be considered maybe this might be a way to approach it (or maybe this will get someone thinking along those line)
