Problems with Guild Wars & Vista

I've got this slight problem with Guild Wars and Windows Vista Home Premium at the moment. Guild Wars previously worked flawlessly in Windows XP Professional.

Whenever Guild Wars loads a new instance (going to another map/going through portals) the map loads up to 100% and then turns black for about 2 seconds before returning to the loading screen again with 100%, a few seconds later, the instance loads and I can play with no errors.

I know that this may be a video card driver problem since Vista only just got released. I'm running Catalyst 7.1 drivers for 32-bit Windows Vista as they are the only official Vista drivers from ATI at the moment, I cannot try others out. This wouldn't be an overheating issue as it happens all the time, even on cold boot and my video card only goes up to about 60C under load.

My specs are:
Intel Pentium 4 530J 3.0GHz
Gigabyte GA-8I915G-MF Motherboard w/ F7 BIOS
2GB Corsair ValueSelect PC3200 RAM
Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB PCI-Express
Antec TruePower 2.0 430w

While this problem is not so particularly annoying, it does get to me after playing for a while.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I can still see the Guild Wars cursor (mouse icon) on screen when it turns black.

nah, this has happened before, it happened on some driver builds for Nvidia drivers aswell under XP

as long as you still see the mouse, its not a problem

I have the same problem, I reckon it's just a little glitch. Haven't seen any major repercussions.

This also happens on my laptop with Vista. It's a problem, but it could be worse so I just overlook it. Maybe in the future a patch or update will fix it.

I see others also have this problem. Lets hope that future Guild Wars updates and/or video drivers can fix this problem. It really does get to my eyes after playing for a while when you get that sudden black screen.

sorry, this graphic glitch is nothing to do with Vista, many have reported it under XP aswell and it is mentioned on the PlayNC support site as a glytch with Nvidia drivers as it drops the previous set of information and loads the next set of graphical information

you can actually watch the process if you use Control + Shift + H and remove the UI and then change zones
