Second Anniversary Present Discussion

I was thinking about this recently about what could be the 2nd birthday present. I was thinking to have a character reached for 2 years without ever deleting it would be special indeed. Wouldn't it be nice to see that special character fighting along side with you? I'm suggesting to make that 2 year old character to be playable as a hero for that account? What do you guys think?

Not sure to be honest, i think i'd rather have some funky new pet access, maybe as a 2nd year pressie you get one of the Asian mini-pets.
I still have both of my original characters.

My very first char is 14 months (iolin) and i think that having him as a hero would be awsome

My oldest character is 21 months old, about 15-20 days before release?
This is due to the deletion of previous test characters. I only stuck with warrior as I liked to play them. My account has been active since release. (Before release, but this doesn't count towards /age)

I'd love to see some kind of ascetic thing which you CAN'T sell. Minipets were fab - but I hate the fact any random person can buy one.

I'd rather actually get something like a minipet. The ability to use yourself as a hero isn't much of a reward, particularly if you already have a full team of 8 players.

If you want to be a hero, get a hero give him your armor/stats/weapon/skills and then call him you.

Something you can't sell would be cool. That way people would stick with this game long to get the item.

I think you should be able to use any lvl 20 char as a potential hero for your group no matter what (and I just started a shiny new thread on that subject), but I still wouldn't mind seeing some sort of special 2-year present beyond just a minipet. The pets really don't do anything anyway. Now, if the idea of pets collecting loot for you actually sees fruition, then that's another story...

I wonder what they will be? Will anything new be released or will it just be the same old random mini pets. Personaly...i think there should be a special present given to those with a 2yr toon (not 2yr old account). I would love either a mini Abaddon, Wurm or Palawa Joko. Or a special token we coud take to an anniversary gift vendor so we could choose a mini pet or special limited edition weapon or armor set. Yeah I know the token idea has bout as much chance as a snowball in hell of happening...but a girl can dream. Still would like one of those three as a minipet though

Minipets again would be lame and also creatively lazy. Whatever they do it should not be trade-able.

I'd say that pretty much confirms there will be a new set of minis every birthday.
I don't think more minis is lazy at all; considering we get at least one new campaign every year with new people and monsters I'd say there will always be some cool new ones for them to release.

I love the mini pets. As a ranger, it gives me the feel of having two pets with me even though only one attacks. And for my non ranger characters..it gives them a travel companion too.

As for the no trade item idea...dont know if i like that or not...what ifyou get something on one toon but you cant really use it but can on another toon? Then you would get stuck with an unusable present.

Another idea might be...a special trim for your cape..this would signify your toon has been with GW for 2 years. And if not cape trim..then something visible on our 2yrd old toon's armor. An amulet, broach, or sash that is dyeable would be cool as well.

It would be cool to have some visual detail over your armor to signify your seniority. Probably wouldn't be cape trim though as that's a guild thing and a PvP thing.

I'd like to see a special mini-pet or something that adds to your armor or helm or somesuch.

I'd really like to be able to get the Asian mini's...they have a big unfair advantage with those (and can make a fortune on them).

I do recall Gaile saying we'd have an opportunity to get those minis at some point. For all we know they could be the prizes for the rollerbeatle races...
