What is the best sword in guild wars,and How much is it worth.

It depends more on what your opinion is, as there isn't really a ''best sword''

there is never a "best" anything in Guild wars. go back to WoW.

But yeah as others have said, there it no "best sword" in the game. The best damage available to a sword is about 15-22. But the effectiveness of other bonuses such as Damage +15% (While Health is above 50%), really do depend on your build.

a collector sword that costs you nada, meets your killing spree needs and was lovingly modded by YOU with whatever you picked up off the ground!

The sword of 1000 truths! It's pretty much priceless because it does 120 DPS with instant mana burn and enchant of +80 stamina!

Fabdo i love your toon thing....and back to the question, there really is not "best sword or item in the game" There are weapons that are worth more than others and are extremely hard to get like Tormented weapons or Crystalline swords or serpent axes...but you can have a sword that worth all of 600 g and it could have what some people consider the best stats in the game. Its all a matter of personale taste.

there are a few best swords

core - crystalline
prophecies - fellblade
cantha - golden phoenix/zodiac
nightfall - elemental/dead/torment
all req 8 (9 for nf, 8's are extremely rare in nightfall), 15^50%, 20/20 sundering or 3/1 vamp, and +30 hp. any sword can be considered perfect with req 8, 20/20 and +30 hp though.

imo, best sword is the req 8 15^50 3/1 +30 crystalline owned by akhilleus, or the 14% (i think?) unconditional long sword (i think) owned by capitalist last i heard

fellblades are core cause everyone can go into FoW and you can get a req 7 Max gold its VERY VERY VERY Rare but possible

I have a Golden Phoenix Blade... not too shabby... but its a bit short as swords go. It would be cooler if it was bigger. ^_^ ...
As for Fellblades... I've come across a few white ones and sold them to merchants without a second thought. They're big and crude-looking... *Shrugs*

... Now if you want a really PRETTY sword.... get a Celestial Sword.... Nahpui Quarter mission in Cantha would be the best place for those, though they drop all over the continent very rarely... ^_^ ... Don't expect to get a gold one any time quickly though. They're not too common.... VERY pretty though.

Elemental swords, Dead Sword (I got a req 9, 15%^50), Tattooed Smitar (sp?) would be the best lookg sword in the game. Crystalline is one of those rare to get one... and if you got one that is in Gold with low requirement and decent mods. It can sell for 100K +.

Crystalline Swords are kinda fugly IMHO.... Not sure why anyone would want one if they could get Celestial instead...
Dead Sword is very nice.... Tattooed Scimitar is just a silly-looking scimitar with a hole in it. ^_^

Still none of them beat Celestial for prettiness.

well in terms of the best possible sword would have to be the +15% unconditional Gladius that someone was trying to sell awhile back for 1200 ectos

the reason this would have to be the best, its not in terms of skin but the +15% non-conditional mod has been removed from play and you dont have to have any requirements to get the 15% dmg... no 15^50 no 20 under 50% etc

I totally agree. I have a rather nice collection of swords (and bows) mostly obtained from Crystal Desert collectors (some from various NF collectors) and each one perfectly modded for a different purpose. All are max damage, req 9, 15^50 (or 15^enchanted). All they cost was a bit of time. I love 'em.

i doubt u will pick up "cool swords" any time soon. If u have the gold u can visit the sell and high end forum to buy one there or you could finish the game, get max armour, get max dmg sword, learn about builds and go farm/chest run.
