The Nightfall elite has a beat the campain requirement. I think that same should requirement be the only one for the Canthan elites as well. The whole Faction thing was a failed experiment that does nothing but force grind into a game that advertises as minimal grind.
I don't think it would hurt too much to add that requirement into FoW/UW access either. Beat the campain that character is from in order to access those two areas.
Elite Mission Access Requirements (Fow and UW as well)

I'm fine with things as they are, but I think they should take the npc's from the past weekend, and have them check to see if someone has finished factions, and if so, well obviously they are 'skilled' (in the npc's eyes) enough to potentially deal with the unknown threats of the deep and the warrens. Lesser mortals have simply not proven their worth and could potentially cause greater harm than has already be perpetrated.

And the guys who own the town... they can get... maybe a double discount merchant? (as opposed to the single discount merchant guys holding the lesser outposts get)

I joined a PUG in Urgoz this weekend and the PUG leader was advertising GLF Monks in open chat. This Level 16 Ritualist kept trying to join the team. We rejected and rejected and rejected and rejected and rejected......
The leader finally said in open chat, "Please level 20s only for this mission!!", but he never got the hint. Usually I don't mind taking lower levels on most missions, but I feel that they have no place on the elites.

That is an obscene quantity of faction that not even entire guilds can hold.
as for canthan elites, /signed.
UW / FoW , /notsigned. (Ascension is a good enough test)

The faction nonsense is terrible.
I think they should simply. Since supposidly these 3 chapters end Saga 1 of GW. They should move all of these elites into the statues of the gods and treat them like they do the skills of GW. You cant buy ritualist skills in Prophecies, I think it should work the same way for elite areas.
Requirements such as acension will be needed obviously.
If you only own prophecies you can only access grenth and balth.
If you own Factions you get Gren, Balth, Dwanya (deep) and Melen (Warren)
Then if you own Nightfall Lyssa for DoA, Balth and Gen
If you own all the games you get access to all the areas.
(This means if you want to go to DoA you must access it through the "ToA" of Nightfall. Sorry dont remember the name offhand)
This is just my take on things. This could be genius or utterly stupid, however it makes sense to me

I think he meant 2,000 points and added on the K as an afterthought.
I think Elite areas should be more accessable but not to just anyone who walks up to the gate. You should have to work at it or pay a price in some way to get in.
I hate the whole "town ownership" thing and thought it was worthless since day one. However, in this chapter built around factions and faction points I would say that the idea of paying a certain amount Luxon Faction to get into the Deep or Kurzick Faction to get to Urgoz's Warren is a feasible alternative.
I would go further and say that anyone who acheives Friend of the ______ title or higher should be able to get into there respective area any time they want and take others in with them. In my mind if they have farmed that much faction they derserve to have this perk.
There has to be a better way than standing and begging for a ferry.
