Monk Going For Elite Skill Hunter
Lord Xenos
What I'm Doing - I've decided I want to try and cap all the elites. I'm tired of doing PvP and not having a certain elite to run a build I want to do. I have heard its easier if you have NF and just take heroes. I unfortunally do not have NF because I'm not big into PvE and I just bought the PvP edition of NF for the skills. Therefor you will notice I'm not going for any NF skills because I already have them.
Why I'm Posting - I figure I'm not the only one that needs skills and most people hate going with henches alone. So I'm listing all the elites I need and taking them off the list as I go.
How To Contact Me - Preferably PM me in game at Healer Xenos but if you insist you can reply here. Just tell me what elite you want to cap and we can go get it. I'll look up where the boss is at so you dont have to worry about that.
Extra - I unfortunally dont have many skill points at the moment but I'm working on getting more. If you have sugestions on anything just post them here. Notice they are not in alphabetical order. Hopefully people will go with me so this wasnt a waste of a thread. I decided to add all professions cause hell I'm going end up doing it anyway

I'll go with you in caping Ranger skills, as my Ranger has almost 0 elites. That is because I didn't bother with equiping him with any.
I do have access to all elites from P and F, but not in NF yet.
So you want/need help, pm me Dargoth Alfazul (add me to friends, as I may endup playing a different character). I'm on Week-ends (Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night).
As for N and E elites, I'll help you with whatever you need, Mo, W, R, or N. My Rit, Assassin, Mesmer, Dervish and Paragon are not up to some of those areas yet (well, not in Tyria anyway).
My Rit and Assassin have beaten Tyria, so if you need them, let me know.
I'm just leveling my heros right now. Capped everything (except those found in Mineral Springs and Abadon's Mouth) with just henchies - prior to NF.
Good luck with your capping.

Thanks tonight I'm doing some missions to rack up some skill points but maybe later tonight or tommarow I can hit you up for some elite capping.

lol, looks like you are in the same situation as me, I also want to skill cap but only 4 skill points at the moment which I farmed today for some LB points , if you find a way to get some SP quickly, let me know here

Its nice that you get 5k xp from each skill capped but yeah its hard to cap them. Im getting people to run the Tyria missions and any missions I dont have for me just for the extra skill points. I also just do lots of quests cause they all give lots of xp. Don't do too many cause some quests you can do on the way to capping the elite. It sucks for me cause 55 solo'ing is nerfed now.
Grasping Darkness
I got the elite skill hunter on my monk and came accross the problem of gaining xp for skill points also. After doing some research and personal testing I found that outside......I forgot the name of the city and atm can't look at the map but it's where the Scar Eater is. Go outside there with scrolls , this build I'm going to give and you should get 4k exp very fast. You're going to need to grab all the mobs(4 in total I think) and get on the other side of a hill so you dont get hit by a disenchantment spirit.
1) Protective Spirit
2) Shield of Absorption
3) Meteor Shower
4) Bed of Coals
5) Frozen Burst
6) Rodgort's Invocation
7) Blessed Aura
8) Balthazar’s Spirit
build taken from
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10088657&referrerid=&highlight=55 s+rejoice
I used this build in this same spot for the required items the shing jea collectors need and was unaware of the nerf on on soa so disregard this post...that build is garbage now and I'm doing my best not to flame the way they nerfed soa.

Thanks for the build. So its 4k xp... how long does each run take?

less than a minute

Good luck to you! I have made it to Advanced Skill Hunter(3) on my ele. Skill Capping can start out as fun but it grew tiresome for me after doing it for several days straight.
What will your strategy be for hunting? I was doing it by profession at first. I capped all the mesmer elites and monk elites. I pulled up wiki, found the page with the list for each profession and just went down that list capping each in turn. This had be jumping all over the map. Then I started pulling up each map area and finding the list of bosses in that area and hunting them. I got really familiar with each area I was hunting in. But this had me changing secondary everytime I got back town, and I was loosing track of what Elites I still needed without opening wiki and my skill list at the same time. So I think getting ALL of one profession before going after another works better for me.
Also, I LOATHE/HATE/DESPISE skill capping in Prohecies because of the random boss spawn locations. The last location I get to is usually where the boss I need is at . Makes for loooong hunts. I like the other chapters where I know exactly where the boss will be

I like the other chapters where I know exactly where the boss will be I feel your pain. I capped everything in Tyria (using 3 characters to cap for all 6 professions) before the XP gain for skill capping. While boss locations do change, the location themselves for a boss do not. I created a list from wiki so I know where roughly where the elites are. Then I'd check off each skill I had, so I know what I still needed and where to find them. I only did it for Prophecies, then I tried to do it for Factions, but got too lazy.
In NF, I'm letting my Paragon plow through all of Elona to find each elite. When I find one, I bring one of my other characters to that location to cap it. Then, I bring my Paragon further to scout for more caps. It takes a while, but at least I'm uncovering more elona for a cartographer title and it makes my job easier for my other characters to cap without going through the mindlessness of redoing everything for each one.
Anyway, as I said, week-ends is when I'm available. So pm me when you have enough skill points. My Ranger has like 31 points and I think I purchased like 3 skills so far. My W/R has all skills from Tyria and elites from Factions. Now that I am only missing a primary Ele, I'm just going to get all skills relating to my primaries. I'll be on around 8pm on Friday night.
Good luck!

If you're interested in elites for PvP why don't you just unlock them with faction? That's a long list and if you're already low on skill points it'll be a lot of work to get them.
Franco Power
lol only problem is, I don't have a monk to farm.
I'll just take it easy, I guess, do some quests here and there.
