Played with a dervish last night

I played with this amazing dervish last night he wouldnt tell me his spec attribs
all he said was something about lyssa. This guy rocked especially in the TA/RA setting he was a tank and massive damage dealer while maintaining great heals.

I hopped on my touch ranger and couldnt even burn him down anyone got any tips? on what his build might be

This is difficult to answer, considering that compared to Warriors and most other builds in RA/TA, Dervish is godly.

Probably half of Dervish builds would be the answer to your question.

Kali is right, Dervishes are just good in arenas. Easy self heals and a big friekin' scythe. Safe bet on killing a dervish: [wiki]Gaze of Contempt[/wiki], [wiki]Rend Enchantments[/wiki], [wiki]Avatar of Grenth[/wiki], or even something like [wiki]Expunge Enchantments[/wiki] or [wiki]Signet of Twilight[/wiki] (with a hex-spam build).

you probably should have watch to see what skills he was using. also without a secondary that makes it harder to figure out too.

Derv's ar epretty self-suffiecient without a secondary. Scythe/Myst/Earth is about all you need for a powerful dervish build. Maybe Warrior for wild blow to take out stances in both PvE and PvP (and even without the stance ending, an auto critical-hit is always nice.)

If he was using something involving lyssa, chances are his simply slowing down the foes cast rate with something like dazed or arcane conundrum and hitting them hard with twin moon sweep for two hits in a second.

your probably right if he is using something to slow cast rate and using twin moon sweep along with Avatar of Lyssa the damage would be freaking insane.
double strike from twin moon + Avatar Bonus damage = pwnt.

Standard Spiker. Wait till someone starts casting something (with avatar up), the go regular attack-Mys Sweep-Eremite's. This is 3 attacks in about 2/3 of a second, all giving you a load of health. You will not be able to keep up with him with a touch ranger, because these spikes deal around 350-400 damage to anyone with light armor, and usually kills casters unless they're ready for it(blocking solves it).
After this you're stuck again on one attack every 1.75 second, though, for a while.

EDIT: Btw, if the dervish is good with this build, enchantment removal isn't a direct counter, it just slows them down, or makes it possible to kill him *after* he spikes you. Avatar of grenth is 30 seconds long usually, so you just run until it's over. It also has to be cast.
