Hi.
Well, first off, I have tried using the search feature to see if anyone is having problems such as this, and for some reason, I do not have permissions to use it. Great start.
Down to the problem. I woke up this morning, and when I attempted to login I was greeted with an 'Error 058' message. This isn't the first time this has happened.
The first time, I simply left the login screen up and allowed the client to download all of the background stuff (which I believe is stored in the DAT file in the GW directory of my hard drive). That worked fine. This time though, I simply get the login screen, with no little lightning bolt in the bottom corner. I assume this means that I already have all of the updates downloaded, and so wont work at all.
I have tried every single suggestion I can find on this problem, and have come to no success. For those who wish to know what I have tried, here is a small list.
-Uninstalled completely, and reinstalled using the game CDs.
-Uninstalled completely, and reinstalled using the downloadable client.
-Double checked my router and made sure that both ports that are suggested are open.
-Double checked my firewall to ensure that GW is on my exempt list (deleted and readded to make sure).
-Uninstalled my anti-virus software to rule out any software conflicts.
-Scoured Google for an answer.
Sadly, every website I have checked that discusses this problem never seems to come up with a solution, and it appears that it has none.
The only other thread here that I located has been closed, lol.
Someone please help. I just got a requirement 8 fellblade, and will be damned if I can never play the game again now
