PvP, PvE and Running !
Natures Own
Theres many sections of this game including Player Vs Player, Player Versus Enemy and then theres Running. It's like a life style for GuildWars players.
The big shabang for running is the renown "Forge Run". This is the most popular run in Guildwars for players who want to go straight to high level armor.
It is also under constant nerfing to control the amount of runners. Due to the latest nerf, the amount of runners has seriously died down. This has raised the price back to good old 4-5k.
Theres even racing events held at beacons. This is when runners come together to put their speed to the test against each other.
So much for the good old warriors running this. Now it's a dervish play ground and nothing more.
Any comments...
If you have been ran to droks by runners. ect.

well i find it easier to go to cantha for my max armor......as it doesnt cost anything lol
Thorondor Port
beat the game with pre searing armor instead of running to droks for armor to make it easy.
...arnt you pve'ers always complaining to make it harder?
edit: imo...closed

I was ran, a good while ago, by my guildies. Although they did die like 2 or 3 times, we eventually got there in one peice. And now, i'm trying to map that section out for cartoghaper on my main char. Heh, the irony.
Coloneh
its really hard. I usually have some sort of bad luck (lagg, bad spawn, ect.) and i never seem to be able to make it solo. I can make anything else even in the southern peaks though.

I love running, it added a nice challenge for PvE areas. Hope they let us run around in chapter four
Mesmer in Need
Running isnt worth it anymore imo. solo farming is where its at. I could barey make it before nf, i wouldent even dare trying now.

Warriors aren't as effective as runners as they used to be, and the point is?
Let the other classes have their spotlight, the warriors had theirs for over a year.

After reading more of your post i realize that you contradict yourself, just because warriors cant run it anymore doesnt mean it has died down, did you maybe think that those same people that were running people with warriors are now running people with dervish?Yeah thats right, they adapted, maybe you should too.
After all this is said and done i have one more thing to say, PLAY THE GAME , play and do ascalon area do the northern shiverpeaks do kryta and the jungle get to desert get passed that and you will make it to droks and OMG! you just saved 4-5k!
Sunchips
i was making a running sin/derv, but my build was based on a glitch, so i wasted a bunch of monies >.<
now i will be trying my derv (hopefully not more money wastage tho)

My A/W runner can make the run fine solo, even though dark escape isn't up 24/7 anymore (deadly paradox nerf/fix?) i can still easily run it with the same build (the build on wiki heh). Its not just dervs that can run. IMO 4-5k is a rip off, thats why I sometimes do free runs for people.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but my assassin was run to Droknar's from Beacon's Perch 2 days ago....by a warrior.
Yes warriors can stil run it and they still do...some spawns are just downright nasty and that's virtually impossible to run. But a fair spawn and it's go...so wherever this idea came from that warriors can no longer run it I don't know...they have probably run into too many warriors that aren't good enough runners.

I just tried to get a Droks run the other day--I have a Dervish who wanted to play with some guildies in Sorrow's Furnace, and I'm a terrible runner, myself, so I bought a run.
I found a D / A who was asking a fair price--she died 4 times, then, annoyed or tired, had to leave. Another runner scammed. A Third runner in the same night (Derv/something?) failed after 3 tries.
Neither Runner got out of Lornar's.
A W/Mo runner the next night also failed 4 times. My 5th try, a dual-dervish running group got through--though one of the two runners died in Lornar's and in Snake Dance.
So..that was 4 straight failures before a 2-runner team got through. Maybe I was the jinx, maybe not. The Dervies who failed all suggested that their enchants were stripped--I don't know if that was the case or not. Every runner said that the spawns had changed on them, claimed bad spawns, etc...
So...it appears that the "pve should get a bit harder" crowd got their (our--I'm one too) wish--just not in the place we wanted it.
Oh well. I got through eventually, and can play with some guildies in the southern shiverpeaks. Yee haw.
But the point is...it does seem as if the run is a little less reliable now--fewer guarantees for any class to solve it.
Or....I had 4 weak runners?

Maybe they just dont know how to run.... like avoid chillblains would help if their enchantments are really being stripped, or make sure fleeting stababilty doesnt go down, or dont forget to heal... Before I ran on my a/w i used to run on my mo/w so I learned all the tricks to beating the run :P.

I just ran drok's for the first time a week or 2 ago. Did it with my Dervish using a standard Vow of Silence build. Good fun. Died a few times, but that's why I bring heroes with a res sig to clean up my mistakes. lol
But yes, you need to avoid the grawl crones if you are using Vow of Silence.
Prices were up to 7-8k when the endless agro bug was in effect, so prices are down. Not at the 3k level they were at when I paid for my first runs though (back in July or so of last year I believe).
Now a days, it seems the real reason to do this (assuming you have factions) is to speed up getting to Perdition Rock so you can get to some of the better elites and to Dakk who has all non-elite core and Proph. skills.
