Weapon upgrades Where and when?

I'm playing a level 17 Ranger and was wondering when will I start to find weapon upgrades,like poison bow strings etc.I'm around Kryta now and was wondering where all these items will start to appear.Thanks

They appear anywhere. You get them on blue, purple, gold weapon drops. For you to obtain them, you need an Expert Salvage Kit.

After identifying the weapon with an Identification Kit, double click the expert salvage kit and single click the identified weapon, a salvage selection window will open and you pick which one you want. Usually the weapon is destroyed during the salvage operation, but occasionally it survives and you can either salvage again or sell to merchant.

Just pick up and id everthing that drops. You will find the mods on weapons as you go along. All you need to do is salvage them.

In other words, you won't find the upgrades themselves, you'll find weapons with mods that you can remove with an expert salvage kit and apply to another weapon of your choice (as long as it's the right type of weapon for the mod).
