Yes it works fine, at least for me it does. So if the hardware is compatible with vista it should be no problems.

btw u think vista can run the other great rpg, diablo? or starcraft, warcraft 3 or... need for speed 4..? cuz these are old. But vista should run all games who can run on XP, if not it isnt better than XP.

I haven't had anything not work on Vista so far - I haven't tried Diablo specifically, but I'm pretty sure if it didn't run I'd have heard about it by now. You can run just about anything on Vista, if it gives you trouble you just set it to XP compat mode.

If your just getting into the Guild Wars universe I would suggest getting Prophicies first as the learning curve in NF is much steeper.

Hey,

Yea, Prophices is a good game to jump into first to learn the basics of the game.

Not to mention that the production value in Nightfall is the best of the three. If you end up purchasing Nightfall then want to go to the previous chapters, you might be disapointed, which you shoudnt (except factions) because prophecies was great.

If you intend to get into guildwars, I think everyone would agree to get them in this order.

Prophecies>Nightfall>then Factions (if you were really into the other two)

Don't be afraid, there is the option to run your programs in "Windows XP Service Pack 2". You can just edit it to run under this in properties.

To OP: Vista and Guild Wars work fine!

The real question is "are the Vista drivers for my hardware mature and stable?" If the answer is "yes" then you're probably in good shape.

It seems like the huge amount of memory that vista uses would cause some issues when switching from xp to vista, as there will be less memory free with vista.

And the answer to that one so far is "yes"

ok, some issues with sound drivers, but thats a manafacturers issue, not microsofts and most have caught up, unfortunately, this time round microsoft actually let them do the work themselves and gave them all developement kits and they didn't know what to do on thier own and sone fell behind, but most have caught up with drivers now

Yup, Vista is a memory hog. Just sitting at desktop with iTunes running is sucking up 802mb of RAM.

Apple software (itunes/quicktime) are not 100% compatible yet. They may be causing excessive memory usage.

I do agree that Vista uses far more memory then XP but it's not as bad as I though.

My Vista takes about 600MB after startup. And GW runs fine. Only thing that pisses me off is that in Vista, the graphics card is always in 3D mode, running at it's max frequency, heating up and making noise. I'm sure Aero would run with with 3/4 of the GPU clock just fine....

Im getting Nightfall, mainly because i only have so much money to spend, and i though NF being the newest, more players etc.
Its all money pending, i originally had planned proph and nightfall, but the new comp is using abit of my money.
Ill have to see how much they are seperate and see from there, the learning curve doesent scare me, i can learn quick to games, most of the time lol
