Add Key For Character Selection
Arkantos
Simple suggestion really. You all know when you press F12 you can pres 'y' for yes and 'n' for no. My suggestion is add a key like 'c' to take you to the character screen. Makes it easier, since lots of people are used to pressing y other then clicking.

I agree. That would be great.

They added that you can log out to your character selection screen. I'm asking to add a key like yes/no has so we don't have to click.

The way they have done it fits in well with the original character selection. Why give you a different way to select characters at all.

He is not saying to give a different way to switch characters he is saying that when you press F12 and then c , it brings you to the character selection screen.
At the moment its is F12 and you get the following option:
Do you want to log out?
[Yes] [Character] [No]
this means that if you press Y or N it will select yes or no, that way you dont have to use your mouse. Now he is asking it to be :
Do you want to log out?
[Yes] [Character] [No]
Meaning that you can either do Y for yes C to switch or N for no.
This just makes it that if depending on what you want to do you would press :
F12 space or enter (cause the selection is on yes by default) or Y to exit.
F12 and C to switch character.
F12 and N to cancel.
Always happy with things that make these things simple.
Also while your at it, can you make in the skills panel the attribute distance just a little bit more to the right from the attribute points, its too close in my opinion.

/signed. I like using my keyboard. It usually feels very odd to click the button instead of pressing a key.

This is really needed, as a web designer/developer, not including accesskeys for something like this is just annoying for the user which relies on them.
C would be a great choice, but it doesn't matter just add an accesskey now!

I thought my version didn't get the update because I quickly hit F12, Enter. Until my wife showed me on her computer, she uses the mouse, the Character selection button.

here is my reasoning: I use the password switch therefore no need for this function as f12+y brings me right back to the character select screen

1) It's more convenient
2) Lot's of people are used to pressing y other then clicking
3) They already have it for yes and no, theres no valid reason why they shouldn't have it for character.

It's actually faster for me to hit F12, Y, type pass, and select another character with my keyboard than it is to grab my mouse and click the character screen button.

I do the same thing pork does. When I log out, I type my password before the login screen comes up (in that "lag transition" between the game and the main screen). When the login screen comes up, the password automatically is in the login info and I slam ENTER.

Every button in a GUI is supposed to have a keyboard shortcut key. Common for programming a proper GUI.

As it is its quicker for me to press f12> enter > retype password > enter than it is to hit the character select button (well, unless I mistype my password). With a key that brings you to character select I'd be even faster at switching.

Even though I have my password on auto-entry, logging out is VERY annoying. Using character select I don't have to see my (obnoxious) guild announcement, and I stay in my district of choice (American or International).

add in the ability to change the default, ie allow me to make it so that hitting enter is for 'character' and definately /signed. 90% of the time when I log out it's to change characters. I'd like to be able to set my default to the option I use the most.

You do not need to press 'y', you can press 'enter' instead, it's more useful.
