Pet question, Is this really rare?

couple of montsh ago I used a key from a magazine...PC Gamer, stepped away for a while, logged into GW and got a message saying to do a /special. I did a quest and got a Gold pet, I have other pets...all white, turtle and hydra. Many most likely did not use the key for the pet, so I checked the AH and good god the price diffrences are insane....10k to 100k...........so which is correct? do the have white text versions?

white text versions of the Grey Giant? No, but it's not all that rare, it's just limited in number due to the fact that it required a key from a magazine and you can't get that key anymore.

But i heard that Europe now also got the key, its in magazines in euro now, so its even more common.

And do you mean that some whites are worth 10K while some golds are worth 100K? if that is what you mean then im pretty sure the prices are somewhat correct, especially the bone dragon every mini collector wants or has that.

You can check the "Mini-pet" sticky in the Ventari's Sell Price Check forum for fairly current price ranges.

Mainly the prices have more to do with what people want than actual rarity. The mini-Varesh is rare (CE edition mini) but not popular, so priced low.

With the recent update you can display your mini-pets in towns and outposts, which has caused prices to jump a little. That could explain the price variations... (10k to 100k is a little extreme though. I don't think I ever saw the grey giant go for more than 50k even when it was new)

I think that's because the CE edition for Nightfall is still readily available - once it sells out, Varesh will probably go up in price the way Kuunavang did.

I saw someone trying to sell Kuunavang in LA this morning, for 100k+5ecto in EU eng dis, yes the price has already gone up. As for the grey giant, its already been out in the UK for couple of months and the rest of EU before that, so no I don't think it's that rare anymore.

If you live in the UK, PC Zone might do back issue that came with the giant, so you might be able to get not 100% sure if they will sell you the old issue.

Which magazine issue was this in (for North America that is)?

I thought it was PC Gamer that did the key for the mini pet, Never heard of PC Zone (UK)

PC Gamer for the US, PC Zone for the UK. Like i said both had been out for a really long time ago finding an issue might be hard.

Second, it was PC Gamer in the US, I still have the page I tore out of my magazine to keep and never moved it. It was in the issue just before the beta weekend. so you could get the pet in beta and then get it again in the release.

You input the code and get a special quest, then you get this in your inventory...


final result of the quest is the pet....


I still prefer my hydra cause I am a fire Ele and I like having a fire pet with me
