Awesome Easter Egg
wetsparks
I just wanted to point out an awesome easter egg that Anet put it for the Canthan New Year. A quest from Johai Sohn in Shing Jea that is called "The Knights Who Say Nian!" A great line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They have also put in other great lines as inscriptions and stuff but this is the only one that made me laugh out loud. Post some other cool ones that have popped up for the new year if you find them.

I was somewhat disapointed, that the mobs in that quest didn't use related shouts.
wetsparks
Yeah, that would have been pretty cool. Another one I found is when you are cursed with bad luck from a fortune, your character says "I see dead people."

Yes, when I told my guild about this, a few of the members who had seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail (including me) laughed out loud. Gotta love those little things A-Net puts into Guild Wars.

There are couple lines from Ghost Busters while cursed with bad luck also, "Are you the Key master?" and "Human sacrifice. Dogs and cats living together. Mass hysteria!"
Erik Fox
The best one is "As a boy I spent much time in these lands..."

Yeah, there are plenty of bad guy lines and some from Rurik as well.

I was hoping that the enemies in The Knights Who Say Nian, or at least one of them, would use "It's only a flesh wound.", which would have made it one hell of a homage.

"My cat's name is Mittens." "My cat's breath smells like cat food." "Oh boy sleep! Now thats where I'm a Luxon (Viking)" "Go, Banana" "Then the healer (Doctor) told me that BOTH my eyes were lazy. And that's why it was the best summer ever." "When I grow up, I want to be a principal or a caterpillar." |

My cats breath smells like cat food. Best quote ever. God, I love Ralph.

Small bit of Resident Evil the gamecube version, (if you ever played it) 4...Itchy...Tasty... It comes from the last part of a diary from a security guard in the mansion who was infected by the Tyrant virus and turned into a zombie. If you think I'm crazy link is here: http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/gamec...ent_evil_f.txt Check under Keeper's Diary May 21, 1998. Might want to read it all it'll make more sense. lol

Maybe I was looking too hard, but one of the bosses is named Erich Bei or something like that - and being a Python fan, i thought of Eric the Bee.

There is also the: "Klaatu.....Barada.....Necktie. From an old SciFi movie (When the earth stood still (?)) and a PC game of which I don't remember the name!
AW Lore
"We must prepare for the coming of Banjo the Clown, God of the Puppets."
got that one from RTS thread about the festival, it comes from elan, a bard who has a puppet in a few episodes of the comic "The order of the stick"

If my guildie is right, the Trebuchet of Livestock in Shing Jea is a homage to Monty Python as well.

Probably the best known incarnation of this is Army of Darkness, which is probably what this is from "Klaatu...Verada...Necktie!" as Ash screws it up again and again before the undead rise up to slaghter all. Brilliant!
Also, this is where the Tyrian Necromancer Verata got his name, along with the few Necro skills
Check out all the pop culture refs: Wiki: Klaatu Barada Nikto

Thx Arcanemacabre for the link - I did not know the phrase was so much used!

When possessed one of the things you say is from Resident Evil. "4 itchy tasty" it's a diary entry from the game.
