Okay, here's my new fire build:
Level 20 E/R Tai Kratos
Fire Magic 12+1
Energy storage 12
Fire Attunment
Fire Ball
Inferno
Flame Burst
Incinerary bonds
Rez sig
Meteor
Glyph of Lessor energy
Fire Wand 11-22
Can't think of the upgrades.
Tigers Roar (Game Of the Year Addition Special)
Energy +12
Halves the recharge time of Fire Magic (20%)
Halves the recharge time of Air Magic (20%)
The basic idea of this build is to inflinct as much damage in as little time as possible and repeat again and again.
Strategy:
1. Start out with Fire Attunment for more energy gains.
2. Put the Glyph of Lesser Energy on if needed.
3. Cast Fire Ball, Meteor and Incinerary Bonds on upcoming foes to do damage.
4. Cast Inferno and Flame Burst when enemies get too close.
5. Rinse, lather; repeat.
Pros: It allows for lots of casting and almost letting me pay no attention to my energy whatsoever and also inflicts lots of battles.
Cons: If they strip your enchantments then you lose Fire Attunment which is the basis of the lessor energy cost on this build.
Suggested: PvE, haven't tested PvP. Try any normal arena matches. (Such as the Zaisian.)
What do you guys think?

its the basic build everyone used before they discovered skill synergy. and elite skills, and that running into melee is a bad idea.

There's a lot of things wrong with this, but I'll just point out that PBAoE is generally trash. If something gets too close, you want to run away like a frightened bunny, not cast spells that let big scary warriors beat you about the buttocks.

Eh, is there a reason your not using superior fire?
If you want PBAoE then take Death's Charge or some other shadowstep and Return.

Although it is not a bad build and will work ok'ish for most of the game, it is not going to give off a lot of damage in your support role.
How far are you into which chapter? Some good Elite skills that you could be using as well as changing your attribute points. You want Firedamage as high as you can get it.
For the PVP side, I'd say you would deal out some damage but nothing that the monk won't be able to handle
