Since presearing of late is more of a social club than a training ground, does having a max damage weapon or a minor rune really impact the aggregate economy?

nope. makes no real diff in the game at all.

It was fixed in the last update. It didn't make any difference in the game, but it was a bug all the same.

In the last update? lol It was fixed nearly six months ago. I think it was abused for about two weeks (just guessing) before a patch took care of it.

And yeah, in the grand scheme of things it makes absolutely no difference play-wise to anybody who did not participate in the naughtiness. They have some extra goodies in pre-sear now. Kind of like being King of Kindergarten.
