Lucky Aura - How does it work?

My question is: Is Lucky Aura actually doing anything? When I first got it, I had a thought that a random enemy might just drop a random gold item.
Guesses? Clarification? Anyone?

Your next item will be a 15>50 Crystalline.
Nah, been too busy Rollerbeetle'ing, I had it on my several times, but never did anything while it was on

Maybe it's just like a placebo; they tell you you're more lucky so you believe you are

I'm fairly sure that it modifies something's drop rates to add up to 100% (It always drops something)
For instance:
A monster has a 20% chance to drop a crafting material/rare crafting material, a 20% chance to drop a collectable item, and a 20% chance to drop a salvage item. Together this makes 60%. 100% / 60% = 1.66666
And the 1.6666 x 20% = 33.3333% chance for the monster to drop one of the 3 types of items, guaranteed to drop one type.
This is fairly theoretical, but I tested it in Sunqua Vale, clearing it on my warrior solo with the Lucky Aura, and I do not recall one monster not dropping anything. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't effect the type/quality of an item dropped, and if there is a high ratio of one item dropped compared to another (I.E. 3 collectables drop for every 1 weapon) then the higher end of the ratio will still have the highest chance to drop and vice versa.
A must have for UW farming, I assume, since it will bring ecto drop rates up by maybe 1%.

Gaile said yesterday that it doesn't change the drop rates.

The guy on guildwiki who claimed it caused guaranteed crits was testing on lv 1 mantids, take that with a grain of salt.

I was hoping it increased drops, or increased gold chances in chests at least. I love the one that increases your attributes by one though. WS 17 EXP 16 trapping in DoA ftw.

If only it counted toward the drunkard title.

Was running around with lucky aura for a while, it dramatically increases your chance to critical, only a couple of my hits weren't critical, that much I know

It might affect what your fortunes give you while under the lucky aura?

Didn't do anything for me at all. No difference whatsoever.

I'm going to wager that having a lucky aura increases your chance to get Lunar Tokens in mob drops.

They def didnt increase Lunar Token drop rates either. I got just as many w/o than with Lucky Aura on. Two full kills of Grenth's Footprint with Lucky Aura on did nothing here...
daemon452
just did 2 runs of FoW and it did nothing we did not even get any golds formt the chests so its looking like it does nothing but make u feel good about yourself.
