Regional Minipets

I just took the time to look through the wiki Mini pet listings and was fairly suprised by what I saw.

Though the Gray Giant was available to the US and most of Europe via the Magazine voucher code I found a rather alarming disparity when it comes to the Japanese/Taiwan minipet numbers.

To make it nice and simple:

Special Regional Minipets for US and Europe = 1 (Grey Giant)
Special Regional Minipets for Taiwan and Japan = 6 (Panda, Long haired Yeti, Oni, Naga Raincaller, Kanaxi and Island Guardian).

While I'm aware that one of these was awarded only for GvG achievements it does seem to be a little out of order that the numbers don't add up. If this is some sort of carrot to the Far East to try and lure their gamers into GW, should it happen at the expense of the European and US gamers?

i agree that its TOTAL BS....but i can see how it may be intended to draw players to the game...

All mini pets that were REGIONAL will be offered to other regions in the future. Gaile already said that some time ago. >.>

What expense did the European/US gamers pay so that Asian territories could get limited-edition minipets?

It's a mini pet, I have 3, 2 are special (a pig and grey giant) and 1 is normal from my "birthday". I don't really care if other regions get more, I only have my 3 because I was opening Fortunes, I get PC GAMER every month, and I've a character for a year. I'm not going to buy one (well, if Bone Dragons go down I will be...) and I don't really care if other places get more.

Savio. I thought I'd explained this with the number disparity, however I'll qualify further.

1) If the Asian regions are getting more because of the lack of players or the competitiveness of the market over there as opposed to the US/EU where GW seems to have a fairly stable community then we're paying the price of it.

2) If I wanted to be really pedantic I could ask, do the asian regions have their own designers, coders and builders?

Kamikazechicken. I seem to have missed that, if that's the case then it totally invalidates everything I've said. Any chance you could let me know roughly when it was said and I can look for it in gail chats and forum posts.

Let me be clear here, I'm not all that bothered about mini pets myself, I've got a couple I kept and gave away the rest however there does seem to be a pattern emerging with these kind of items that are made available in the Asian regions and I'm not sure why they aren't being offered to the rest of us.

Actually, the number of those asian ones is signifcantly less (ie, only a few hundred of most of them).

Even if there were 6 more different types of mini pets, there are probablly more grey giants out there then those 6 combined. By that logic, Japan and Twain should be the ones complaining.

Favour of the Gods can be won in the Hall of Heros

Favour of anet always has and will belong to Korea

Korea has no exclusive minipets.

Europe and the US got the mini grey giant and divine aura which is far more common than the select few Japanese ones.

And Japan never gets favour, so the world is balanced

Alright, think about this one. What about people who live outside the US, Europe and Asia? Like Australia and New Zealand. We get no special offers. I couldn't get the Iron Giant, simply because I'm not gonna keep track of when the magazines get released over here. It's usually anything up to a year or two. Sure, I could have ordered it from overseas, or bought it off ebay, but since the only reason I'd want the magazine is for the code, I wouldn't want to buy a second hand one since the code could have been used. And I didn't want to pay for a subscription just to get one issue.

So, in other words, STOP COMPLAINING! You guys have it better off than us down in the middle of nowhere.

Two things
- It's a Gray Giant, not an Iron Giant
- The magazine was out last November (06) and then they reran it because of a printing error. I bought both copies of the mag so I have a spare code. PM me and I'll give it to you.

k so the west get pandas from comp for example

currently they sell for like 200 ectos

the west + asia get them so 81 exist instead of 65 (i think numbers are right).

even if the pandas go to 100ectos who will be able to afford to buy them???

I remember seeing it too; if you can pinpoint when we started hearing about the panda and kanaxai minipets you can probably find it in a post from around the same time.

I wouldn't mind a Panda though, those rock!

We'll probably get them soon though, they'll probably all be in the 2nd anniverary (seeing Gaile promised they'd show up in European/American districts someday, and I doubt she was talking about trading).

I have always seen the minis issue as quite odd and notice anets favortism to other contries and leaves their own left behind and thats cool..whatever..NF was the last thing I ever bought from this company.
It isnt just the minis its weapons also and im sure theres more...wierd wierd wierd

I don't think it will be panda,

usually when they release a series, there will be only 1 green, and 2 gold mini.

and we have already seen the one of the golds, which is the piggy, therefore, it probably will not be panda and kanaxai, I think

kanaxai=8(japan)+16(taiwan)
panda=16(japan)+49+61+10(2007/03)(taiwan)
island guardians=24(japan)+50+61(taiwan)
oni=250(japan)+61(taiwan)
naga,yeti=250(japan)+250+61(taiwan)

ps. The GW Player is very,very,very^very rare in Taiwan,HK(maybe less 1000)= =|||

Although Taiwan has been harrasing Europe and America and trying and even succeding to take hall of Heroes recently, although its rare for them to hold it more than one match
