God Wars

I had this idea for PvP (or possibly a PvE thing) where the gods of the game decide to see who is the strongest.
The gods split into their own individual armies. So Balthazar, Lyssa, Dwayna, Grenth and Melandru all have their own army and are fighting the other gods for supremacy.
This idea in place can have a unique twist on PvP. So in a heated battle between the factions of Lyssa and Grenth, people who are aligned with Lyssa (people with Mesmer or Assassin) fight with the Lyssian army (Mesmer Assassin and certain types of eles) NPCs AND with Lyssa herself/s(?) as well as her muse! The Grenth Army will have Necromancer, Ritualists, Ice Eles with the same types of NPCs and (you guessed it) Grenth and his "Voice" fighting along side you in your battle against Lyssa.
The Idea is that ANYONE with the perquisite professions can fight in the name of their god. So W/Mo can fight with either Dwayna or Balthazar. Or R/A can fight with either Lyssa or Melandru.
For shitsandgiggles the gods can have all maxed Attributes and Skills of the classes they support. So Dwayna will have all the Monks skills and All Ele Air skills. And Lyssa will have everything maxed with all skills as well as energy storage from ele. And by all skills I mean everything, even elites.
This idea was designed with PvP in mind. So basically imagine a AB or King of the Hill battle with the same rules but with this new twist. The gods are able to be "defeated" but are suppose to be exceptionally difficult.
I did run into a problem with this idea though. Some professions dont have a set patron god. Like Eles or Dervish are the in-between class. So I guess for them only their skill sets can determine who they fight with.
I got this idea when I read that despite all these song, holidays, feasts, gifts and everything else all the gods REALLY care about is strength and the things they represent.
So, what do you guys think?

The gods are not so petty as to have this pissing contest to see who's the most powerful.

What's the point in fighting a battle you can't possibly win or lose?

Edited to accommodate misunderstandings.

I don't like it that a "god" can be defeated by a mere mortal.
But I think this needs some more detail or organization because it's a wee bit scattered.

I think the idea of having the gods be physically represented and beatable is very bad (*SPOILER* isn't it cheesy that I killed Abaddon with my scythe? *END SPOILER*). But I do like the idea of a War of the Gods. After all, it only makes sense that there would be a power struggle and that sometimes it could turn bloody.
To fight for your patron god, one of your two professions (perhaps primary) needs to be tied to him or her. I like it. It could be a cool twist for an upcoming chapter. If and when GW tries to break into the real-time strategy game business, this would be a great way to set up the various sides you can play as.

Balthazar is the war god, that is why balthazar watches over wars and has competitions in his honor. The other gods associate with other means of involvement, Lyssa is praised in art and acting, that is why you often see Mesmers in theaters or stage locations. Dwayna is a god of life and peice, Grenth is a god of death and fear, Melandru is a god of nature.
Wars happen in balthazars name, other gods may get involved, but that isn't what they are about, and they are not at war with eachother, Dwayna is head of the gods.

A battle where you could only take 2/3 professions would suck.

Imagine the lag..........
.......

And if you suggest to cut down on the amount of people in each battle, it will be impossible to kill Dwayna. I mean seriously, 16(or more) in all the monk attirbutes? Good luck trying to take that down.

I don't know about you, but I don't find beating on some megaboss with every Monk and Elementalist skill in the game for the next twenty years (or until you got raped by the extremely powerful air spiking) "fun".
Imagine the Blinding Surge PS+SoA spam.

Aligning with gods is neat, but I don't know about the battle.
It would be cool if a player could align with any god they wished, through quests, and received a skill or two from that alignment. Similar to lightbringer and sunspear rez skills.
So players would have their primary, secondary and god alignment skill sets. Although the god alignment would only give a couple of skills not 125+. lol

And about that scythe thing , I would like to know how can God be born? If you can kill him/her, so he/she must be born somehow or soon we will have a godless world .

So then the mesmers would all join Lysasa's side and annihilate the air elementalists on dwayna's side, the fire eles on balthazar's side, the ice ele's on grenth's side, and the earth eles on melandru's side. not all professions follow a strict diety> monks can go either dwayna or balthazar... so what will decide which god you support, the player? the game?
