new to the forum, but had an idea for a class:

the flagleant

basicaly a religious zealot, seeking death in combat, to atone for his/her deeds and those of others.

the idea of this proffesion is using wails and chants to demoralise the enemy and power his attacks with a flail.

base armour:70
wepon: flail (8-28 damge, can strike up to 3 aggacent foes)

attributes:

primary- zeal-2% chance per level to gain one energy and double addrenaline from each foe hit and each time you take damage.

sample skill.
life of pain (stance): for 3..20 seconds you receive 1/2 damage, when this stance ends you begin bleeding, and suffer from a deep wound for 18...10 seconds.

flail mastery. increases the chance to critical with a flail.

sample skill
self flagleation: flail attack. you swing twice at the enemy stricing for +10...30 damge, but have a 60...25% to hit yourself each swing.

wails: increases the effectiveness of your wails

sample skill:
cry of pain (shout): you begin to wail in pain, demoralising the enemy. all nearby foes suffer from weakness for 2...10 seconds.

belief: increases the effectiveness of belief skills

sample skill
bow down to your god. shout. all adjacent foes are knocked down (50% chance to fail with belief 4 or less)

does need more work but what do you all think?

This stinks of WH40K. Arco-Flagellant much...
Besides... with that selection of self-loathing, you might as well just call the class "Emo Kid" and give it the attributes Razor Mastery, Bad Poetry, Floppy Hair and Linkin Park.

Aside from that, imagine the fuss that would be kicked up by real-life religious nutters if they saw this. It might not be, but they'd perceive it as some sort of personal attack against them... which would be followed by burning effigies and suicide-bombings (which while quite amusing in its own right, could get the responsible game banned).

That is to say...

... no thankyou.
