Hi,
I was visiting players in the game tonight during the 9:00 (PST) event and went to lead a celebratory Conga while my mask waited on the ground. By the time I got back, someone else had, mistakenly I'm sure, picked it up.
Could you please check your inventory and see if that you may have mistakenly picked up the mask? I was in ID#1 of Shing Jea Monastery. If you have the mask, I'd like it back. It is labeled as Gaile Gray Europe.

Gaile insisted it was an accident. However, the mentality of players in this game is pretty low standard, and they most likely took it after the 10 min wait period (I picked up her 16 gift bags and returned them to her) to make a profit by selling it. This is called being a SNEAKY LITTLE THIEF, and... you stole from the wrong person bub.

I was there when the mask went missing, and I am certain that it was a mistake. I just hope you get your mask Gaile. The only reason someone would keep the mask would be to sell it, so if that is the case it will pop up in a couple days on an auction of some sort.

after all its only a virtual item.
i'm sure theres many ways to go about this, personally i would just forget it and get a new one, if you heard all the stories that happened to me from people like that you would freak..

Wouldn't Anet have logs off all the convosations/stuff being picked up in towns? I'm sure they do, maybe it'd show "<insert name here> picks up Lion Mask" maybe?

It isn't the mask that Gaile is mad about I am pretty sure. It is the fact that she does a lot for the community as a whole and is very nice to everyone, and someone had the audacity to steal from her even after all that. The act is what makes it bad, not the missing item itself.
If anything does popup, forget negotiating, try BANNING. Stupid thieves...

It's not about whether the mask can be replaced. It's about the mentality behind stealing from ANY player, not just an admin.
I'm keeping a post up about it in the Party Search window wherever I go. Of course, the effectiveness of this strategy is hindered by most people's lack of interest in using or checking that window....but I'm doing what I can.
Hope things get settled without too much of a fuss, and I'd like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

I was in ID1 a minute ago and someone was claiming to have the mask, but most likely was someone just spamming. Was someone named blue power ranger or such. Most likely someone just trying to brag though
Hope it turns up! By the way, how come it is set up so you cannot give someone else a mask and they can create one from a customized one? I know of people that did not get Factions and really want a mask.
Edit: Heh... there's a big thing going on in ID1 now with people trying to find your mask. Lots of people asking around and discussing it.

If this thread was made by anyone else, well almost anyone, this would be a flamefest full of people telling them how noob they are and and how it's there own fault for not paying attention or whatever. They'd be told that there is nothing that could be done for them and to submit a support ticket at plaync and hope for the best. So Gaile, Anet's support page is located at here. I realize it's a little cumbersome to navigate, but we all have to deal with it. Chances are however that they will just refer you back to here or some other unofficial site. So sorry about your luck.

That the reason I didn't pick up the mask was that I was answering player questions and leading a conga, at their request? Had I been there to simply get my stuff, I'd be fine. I was distracted, and trying my best to make others happy.
Now, it's great to point at the victim and say "It's your fault," but in this case, I think you're accusations are rude, crude, and socially unacceptable, given the context.

Sure, it's just a mask (and quite a funky one, at that), and there are plenty more where it came from, but when you take something away from someone who gives so much, it's just a new level of wrong.

So, uhh.... sorry to hear that happened. But yeah, you should've just made sure you had room in your inventory. How hard is that? I can understand the whole "too busy to..." blah, but really, just a little preparation can avoid potentially nasty situations like this. Don't be blaming the bear in the forest for tearing you up, blame yourself for carrying honey through a forest full of bears.
