Trade Window is glitched. Dont trade.

Apparently there is a glitch with the trade window right now. So dont trade trade any items for stacks of items right now. I would elaborate further, but i dont want to spread the news any further. Just dont trade unless your tradeing for Gold.

I've done a ton of trading today and nothing was wrong at all.

call bs if you want. i dont know how it is done. apparently though it will show a stack of something as the full stack, but when trade is over you only get one. Just happened to a friend.

Your friend probably didn't pay attention to the big red letters saying This trade has been modified. Please check it carefully.

i was showing off to people, put up 100 bones, took them down and put a gloom shield in its place, showed 100 glooms.

No, you can not, no way, no how, ever, duplicate an item. This is just a visual interface glitch of some sort that is now in the open and being exploited.

Yup, please guys and gals be careful - and I'm speaking as one of the scammed that didn't know about the glitch until just now.

I'm 80k lighter and am not trading with anyone other than trusted guildies/alliance members until A-net confirm this is fixed.

EDIT : God knows how much the scum; I mean scammers, have made from this. I was done at 3am GMT approx, over 3 hrs 45 mins before this thread started.

Also, you don't get the red warning notice "This trade has been modified" with this glitch.

Wow, I take back what I said. Evil little glicth - clear this up ASAP, Anet, please! We don't need any more scams than there already are. What with people stealing masks and what-not.

There is scam that involves changing 100 dust into 100 ectos in the glitchy trade window. There is a sticky thread about the topic in the High-End Sell Forum.

Apparently the only way to distinguish the "fake" 100 ectos from the real thing is the value that is listed. The "fake" ectos will display a value of 100g while "real" ectos will display a value of 25k.

I don't recall ever seeing merchant prices in the trade window before.

Edit: just checked and items do show merchant values. I swear I've never seen that until just now. Image above didn't load for me first time either.

in that screen shot, animal hearts you is my character. I didn't believe him when he showed me but he told me how it was done and as you can see, i showed him 100 axes. It has been reported and hopefully will be resolved ASAP. Hopefully people took names and the hammer falls down on these scammers.

Not only took their name but took screenies too which are winging there way to A-net as I type.

Does this work only with the number 100, or any other multiple? I can't see anyone really expecting to buy 100 ecto for under 100K. But 10, definately.
