Level 20 PvE characters without a secondary

I haven't seen any lvl 20 PvE character without a secondary profession (except in pre-searing, but don't mind those) since the Nightfall preview event, where it was possible to walk around without a secondary. I was wondering, did they actually force anyone without a secondary to take one, or are the there still lvl 20's without a secondary around?

A friend told me there was, so I figured I'd ask. Trying to get my Nightfall Necormancer to lvl 20 without taking a secondary, but if there are still alot of "secondary-less" characters around, I don't think it's really worth it.

Thanks,
Max.

Don't believe it is possible. As far as I can think of, you must choose a secondary before you are allowed to move on in the main story. So, unless you plan on going all the way to Level 20 in pre, Shing-Jea, or Istan without doing any of the storyline quests, you're going to have to take a secondary.

An Elonian can get ferried into Cantha and Tyria. I'd imagine you could do all of Factions and Prophecies with an Elonian and not need to choose a secondary. Rather easy and seems kinda pointless though. You'd be missing 30 attribute points as well.

I'm a level 7 Necro from Elona, and already did both attribute quests, so that's not true. And how can I get ferried to Cantha and Tyria? I don't see any possiblities. If it's true, I'd quit immidiatly, because that'd make it very easy.

And about it not being possible, it's always possible by killing the highest levels possible (I'm pretty sure Istan has lvl 16 enemies, and even higher lvl bosses). Just making sure that if it's possible, that it actually IS hard, because I don't want to waste my time

I didn't know both att. quests could be done without a secondary. Anyway, all you need to do is ride with someone who has the quests to travel to Cantha and Tyria. You need to be ferried into Consulate Docks first, but it works exactly the same was as the Docks ferry.

When the FIRST introduced the K skills thing where you could change your profession in any old outpost, you could set it to just your primary. They changed that though. *sigh* ANet spoils all my fun...

I think it's possible for you to do it, but it would be pretty hard.

My suggestion would be to stop doing quests, and to just go kill the highest level monsters you can in the First City and Zehlon Reach areas.

When you hit level 18/19 you won't be getting experience points from killing most of the monsters available to you any more. Now would be a good time to start trying to do quests again. Or if you can join someone with the quest Defender's Choice active, you will be able to kill groups of level 15 corsairs. As long as he doesn't accept the reward, you should be able to either rezone and start again, or he can abandon it and retake it (depends on how the quest works).

But you will not be able to progress in the story line without taking on a secondary profession.

When they turned it off after the preview, I heard that quite a few people got "stuck" in their single profession and actually lost skills. They probably took out the single profession option to prevent future problems should they try to change the system again.

There is also a quest where you can kill a lvl 24 mes in the noob island in NF. It's the one where you have to free the ppl out of the vases. So just kill the mes and map back out and do it again.

Hoped this helped.
