If some people haven't noticed, but the Smiting Monk's elites are kind of..... poopy......
Balthazar's Pendulum:
Instead of having a foe knock that ally down, which doesn't happen all the time. How about if that ally were to fall down, one nearby foe is knocked-down.
Word of Censure:
By far the most energy consuming but low damage skill I've ever used =/
63 damage at 12 smiting prayers for 10 energy. An elementalist can easily top that with Immolate, An Necro can use Shadow/Lifebane Strike (if over 50% health) and Icy Veins. Sure the 2 second recharge is nice, but 20 seconds longer if for is at 33% health seems to add more drawbacks to the skill. It would be nice if that skills damage was raised to at most 90 damage or maybe 80.
Buff two elite skills?

bump?
Come on, I know someone thinks these are pathetic elites.

To me the problem with that Balthazar's Pendulum change is that Drunken/Desparation Blow could go way out of hand. I was thinking something more Reversal of Damage-like, for example: The next time target ally takes damage from a foe, the damage is negated and the foe is knocked down. If this change was made, though, it would probably need balancing (recharge goes up for sure).

What about Word of Censure? It's relatively weak for 10 energy and that monks don't have 80 energy and any attunements like elementalists do.

imo, the best way to fix Balth's Pendulum would be something like the following:
Balthazar's Pendulum (5e, 1s, 5r)
For X seconds, whenever target ally would be knocked down by a foe, that foe is knocked down instead and you lose X energy or this enchantment ends.
Note, I don't think it should be maintainable, personally. I think the energy should scale something to the effect of 8...4...2 or so...but that's just me.
I would like to see an improvement to Word of Censure.

There are some really good ideas on how smiting should look in the 'why nuking sucks'-thread (it went a little offtopic)

Ideas:
Balthazar's Pendulum - Smiting Elite Enchantment Spell
5, 1/4, 15
For 5..10 seconds, your party is enchanted with Balthazar's Pnedulum. Whenever any party member is supposed to be knocked down by a foe, that foe is knocked down instead.
Word of Censure - increase damage to 30..110, changed disabling condtion to under 25% and 15 seconds.
This effectively turns it into Discord with a few notable changes:
-costs 10 energy instead of 5
-no Hex or Condition requirement
-casing on foe under 25% health disables it for 15 seconds (note that the health is checked after the damage is done, so a high amount of damage on the spell would give more odds for the skill to be disabled)
adding to that:
Ray of Judgment - Reduce cost to 10, reduce recharge to 20, remove skill disabling, causes burning to hexed foes also.
Smiting prayers just aren't all that potent. Probably all for the best.
