i want to start playing through the "mallyx the unyeilding" quest and was wondering what kinds of build are most wanted. (example--steel wall groups in the deep, BP groups in urgoz/sorrows furnace).
i have a warrior, necro, mesmer, ranger and assassin that can be used and any of them can play pretty much any build.
dont post entire builds, just give me a general idea of what is usually most wanted or post a link to a build/another thread discussing this..thanks!
In need of DoA builds!

Warriors are used as Obsidian Flesh Tanks
Necro's are used for Bip, SS or FoC with some ranger spirits if there is no real ranger present (QZ, EoE, Symbiosis.)
Rangers are used for spirits with either Monk secondary for healing seed on the bonder monk or Necro secondary for Bip. There is also some trapping going on, but thats more for farming the start of some missions than actually completing the missions.
I haven't seen much demand for mesmers, (as usual) but they could beof great use (also as usual) I think visages could make thing a lot easier here and there f.e. But you'll have to get to know the area and propose a build yourself.
Assassins ? No idea really.

Searing Flames nukers are in relatively high demand. Check out these team builds from GuildWiki...

Which raises the question of whether there are any groups doing DoA whihc aren't running these cookie cutter builds? Some guildies and I are going to tackle DoA soon and have been wondering if we're going to have trouble putting together a PUG that doesn't have the ideal class makeup. Like can a team build with a warrior *and* a dervish succeed?

2 tanks is sort of dumb in DoA because any splitting of agro is asking for trouble, but you could definately go with a random backline and still pull it off if you had enough skill.

OK well basically any DoA team should consist of the folling guidelines.
1 Tank - buffed and able to sustain a decent amount of damage even when stripped.
3 Damage dealers, AoE or group based fast casting etc dealing with groups so try to damage the group is the basic story.
1 Damage reduction - Bonder or a partial bonder with some other skills think possibly paragon with shouts or rit with passive spirits.
2 heal/prot monks high level of heals and some minor damage reduction.
1 battery with some support spirits.
NOW.
We have always ran with a warrior as tank but a dervish could most likely do it to.
For damage we have ran SF ele's with meteor with renewable resses. but also necro SS incorporating some of the other skills like suffering etc. We are also working on a mesmer build based around fast casting SS but this is a work in progress. Other then that we haven't been anle to come up with any really other professions able to do it. Rit has been brought up but after some looking and testing it is pretty clear a rit just can not put out the damage enough for it to be effective in a offensive role( will come back to the rit in a bit !)
Damage reduction well it is kinda obvious I guess it's primairy job is to keep the tank alive and buffed to withstand anything hitting it, secundairy to that it is to protect the casters as they move into range , or in case of a breakout to buff one up to a second tank.
The heal & prot monks well this should be clear they just make sure the team stays alife :P
The battery well this should be clear to , best case he makes sure the damage output and the heals can be sustained no matter what.
As you see I do not talk many professions as we as a group believe there are options just as long as they are thought through, no we do not just take anyone, but we are willing to discuss build and ideas.....
Ok so we plan a run like a week in advance , just so we have all people for the party......

How about for Rits? Any demand for say, a Minion Bomber? (And if you think there's any groups that will take a Resto Rit seriously, think again.)
As is, I'm thinking of (finally) throwing in the towel and making a Spirit-based or Lightning-based build. Wiki links, build suggestions? (Trying for Razah, but that's all.)
EDIT: Nevermind, found one. http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:Team_-_Eskimos
