Thirsty River Scam

Hi,
Dunno if you guys heard of it, but warning at least a few people is good enough. That scam make me hate GW and I really dun feel like playing anymore. Enough with the whining.

Story: Worked me ass off to get 120 ecto 120 shards for my fow armor. I was making a forgemaster team in ToA when i got whispered.
"Hey you should try the thirsty River Glitch before you do your armor. It doubles what you are holding in your inventory." (obviously I didnt believe it but i was curious how the scammer was going to do that)

He took me to thirsty river mission, entered the mission and told me to stay near a rock at the beginning while he moves away pretending to be friendly and say "to make sure i dun pick up anything from you." In fact he was running to the Ghost in the thirsty river mission. He told me to drop what i wanna double and tell him when im done.

Being too sure of myself i tried to drop the 120 ecto and 120 shards. and you can guess what happened. The scammer clicked on the ghost. The Cinematics triggered and we were both teleported near the ghost. After the cinematics he had running skills, so he just run back to the place i drop my ecto and shards. And i got pwned.

I reported him, but Anet doesnt refund any lost items or gold. so im left with only 74k. Anyway, Proof of how stupid someone(me) can be even when you think you cant get scammed.

This thread is only to warn people of this scam. He got 120 ecto and 120 shards in 30mins. I can imagine other people too getting scammed this way. If you wanna flame the post of how stupid i was, go ahead. Really cant be bothered after losing that much. Be careful others. It really sucks cause you dun enjoy the game after that.

That sucks. Sorry for your loss. Anyways, though, it's your own fault for being gullable. You should know partaking in a exploit as he claimed is against the rules anyways... I think you just lost everything for good. And that's an amateur scam, something unique but stupid...

Still sorry for your loss. Something like that would make me quit GW. I just hope that ******* gets banned for life.

Item Duplication is always a scam. Says so right there on Wiki.
