Dont get me wrong guys

I used to love the game when it started from pre Beta test

But after 3 campaigns it has all become the drag

The same old festivals , characters , mods , missions etc etc
And what the hell was this stupid piggy festival

I raised my sword against the chars and 3 campaigns later they make me a low life chasing pigs and cooking receipes. The only salvaging was bettle racing

There far too much cluster now with 8 characters all scattered everywhere not one is perfect Just too many options...

Anet should

1) Release a new game fast

2) Start from scratch New storyline New characters no more importing characters from the last 3 campgaigns

3) I want horse riding , dragons , huge gigantic monsters that would take 50 people to kill over 50 hours

I love this game but there is nothing that excites me in this game
Any of you guys feel the same.

Also I bought a Nintendo Wii I am addicted to that now .But i would love to come back to GW

They need to bring back the charm that was with the 1st chapter

Sounds like you want World of Warcraft.

Also, if you knew anything about game development you'd realise that they're shipping them pretty quick, indeed, this is evident in the worlds

You'll also tire of huge WoW type mobs pretty quickly and all, as has everyone I know that plays it.

Also, you say it's the same old characters, but this game's masterpiece feature is the rich complex variety of dual class skill options. It's insane. It's the options that make it compelling. You seem to be arguing there are too many options but want more options because it's a drag??!!

Finally, it's the year of the pig. In China. Hence the festival. China is after all just about the biggest nation on earth.

First you say:

and just before that, you said:

Don't you think your 8(10) characters would be even more scattered with the next chapter coming this soon? I personally think it's good that they're bringing the next part so late that I can get all my multiple characters through the old campaigns first.

If you're bored, have you tried selecting different heroes in Nightfall? Tried getting your way through campaigns with alternative builds/PUG's?

A lot of people wouldn't enjoy #2, some have spent over 2 years with their main characters and would be unhappy to see them become unusable in some parts of the game.

On #3, we don't need mounts, the explorable areas are so small already. WoW and other games have mounts as they still haven't learned about moving around by mapping.

And you do know how much time 50 hours is, right? That's over 2 days No one in their right mind would partake in a mission/quest that would take that long, especially if there's no possibility of saving the progress/resting.

LOL Just because someone wants some features that are similar to WoW doesn't automatically mean they want WoW. I would like some features from WoW in Guild Wars and guess what I don't even like WoW.

Even if Guild Wars had every feature WoW had it would still be a totally different game than WoW. The argument "if you want that go play WoW or go play this or that game" is really getting old and it's annoying now. So shaddup and shove it.

Boredom is a personal problem, really.

If you are bored, then do something else. Overdoing anything can make one jaded. Taking a break from the game and coming back when you feel like is really a good way to improve things.

I feel ANet has actually designed a game that you don't have to live in 24/7.

No game will ever be designed that won't eventually exhaust the players interest. But even boredom is temporary.

Overexposure to the most heart pounding things in the world can breed complacency and yawns in those that have seen it much too often.

The arguement that people who suggest such things as mounts is still legit, this is Guild Wars not World of Guild Craft, aren't Junundu good enough as mounts?

There are many things to do in Guild Wars, have you ever PvP'ed? I don't do hardcore PvP (wich is HA imo) but every so often I do RA or TA or a CM and it really helps to relieve boredom from the other parts of Guild Wars. I would love a new chapter, but I do not want it rushed (anyone remember factions?). Anet has already stated that they will release GW4 in '07 (other reports say the third or fourth quarter)

I know how you feel. *Sigh*.

Try concentrating on just one or two things that you like doing, e.g I mainly do FA, and maybe some Tombs. Occasionally progress some characters, but a break from the game is good, as it'll help you to focus on the things in GW that you like doing, rather than feeling obliged to play. Tbh I find surfing these forums more fun than playing.

Games get old after you play them for a while.. that's just how it is with these things. You'll get over it and move onto the next thing.

I have to say it defiantly sound like wow is for the opp.

Guild wars will not change for the better. If your unhappy now it seems as though you will always be unhappy.

Wow has the things your looking for. I have actually started a discussion thread on wow compared to gw if you wanna have a look at it.

But if i would sum it up i would say..

Go with gw if you: want to invest a medium ammount of hours into pve for a storyline. (once or twice through is usually best to prevent boredom).. gw is well known for its "everyone can have everything very quickly withough much effort" mentality.. if you just like a casual 1-2 hour game played mostly for storyline this is for you.

Go with wow if you: want a huge gap between being rich and poor... new and skilled. or if your a loot hunter... for the most part wow lacks storyline when compared to guild wars. wow also takes many MANY hours to differentiate yourself from the average newb

good luck with whatever you decide to do..

If you are fed up with GW, then stop playing it and take a break from it. Play some other games, GW will be here when you decide to come back to it.

I see tons of people getting bored of the game, just because they play too much too fast. There's so much to do in GW, and it doesn't require you to be online 24 hours a day to get it all done. There's no hurry, no need to try to pass the game as fast as possible. Take a few weeks or even months off from the game, and when you come back the game will feel interesting again.

Oh, and a Wii helps too. Concentrate on playing that for a while.

Anyway, releasing a new game fast is not the answer. You'd most likely get bored of that too in a couple of months, and demand more (with same content as previous chapters, except with tons of new bugs, and tons of other problems that come from releasing a new game too fast). If you want a totally new game, with new characters and new places to explore... well, there's tons of other games out there, no need to ask Anet to make one for you.

I suggest you just take a break from the game for a month or two. Late last year, a couple months before nightfall came out, I was playing heaps (instead of doing uni stuff, I might add), and I got bored of the game. Also, I'd had a taste of the Dervish from the PvP event and preview event and I wanted that. So I took a break. You don't have to leave the game forever. Just take a break, do something else, play a different game. And in a couple of months, come back and see if you're all refreshed to start playing GW again. Or even just have a break till the next campaign, and then come back. If you're still bored of it afterwards, you could try taking a longer reprieve, but I'd say if after two months of no play at all you still are bored, you're gonna have to find a new game to play.

I Agree.

Anyway, i feel the same way has the topic starter, and guess what, i bought a Nintendo Wii 2! Playing zelda for a month now... RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing long game.

It will keep me distracted till Chapter 4.. i have GW completed and with 1000k on storage waiting to get spent on new looks.

i'm guessing you're soloing everything, and working with either heroes/pickups. and I base that guess solely on the fact that i found that to be extremely boring when i did it for a few weeks, my best suggestion is to find a guild with nice people in it. (not just some random guild that spams in LA, kaining, shing jea, kamadan, since you're just ending up with the same thing. random people who have nothing in common)
Try to make the game less repetitive, try something you haven't tried before.

If that doesn't cure your GW-boredom then i don't know how to do it.

Take this from somebody like me...

i played guildwars for about 16 months. You could probally say i was successful with it, i completed everything bought most of the armour, played every class. Even PvP'ed a bit and won HoH a few times. But in the end...i just got so bored with it all.

Guildwars is fine if your into arena style pvp combat, but as an RPG its desperatly lacking. You can't really blame the game becuase anet doesnt market GW as an RPG.

What i hate is how GW "feels" like a half cocked RPG, it has the foundations for a fantastic game, but then has certain features that SHOULD be there and arn't.

Look at the update notes, they are always updating the interface...these are basic game design stages that should have been implemented at beta..not now....lol....and NO GAME should need this many skill balances.

I was skeptical about WoW, and when i first played it..i hated it...it wasn't GW and i hated that..but the more i played wow...the more i disliked GW.

GW needs to:

Improve what its good at...which tbh is PvP combat even i admit the pvp in most other games sucks.

Stop changing key elements in the game, like the AoE nerf, 6v6 pvp, Anet have a huge problem with controlling this game, feels like they are always trying to stop players making money. thats becuase it sooo damn hard to make money..lol. GIVE PLAYERS AN AUCTION HOUSE. seriously..in wow you dont get the trade spam GW does.

Anet should focus on adding NEW features rather than changing current ones....stop adding so many skills and classes and release different races. i'd have turned off wow immediatly if i could only play human...lol.

but hey you know what this boils down to?

Nobody cares if you buy GW then don't play....becuase they have your £17.99 or whatever it cost. Anet will always withhold good features and ideas and release them slowly so they can keep pumping out expansions for you to buy. Ever considered that buying so many expansions actually costs almost about as much as a monthly fee?

heres some food for thought and im not a wow fanboy, these are honest truthful facts about world of warcraft.

It has about 300% more content and depth.
It's fun for ALL players not just PvPers.
You pay for this depth and if you ask me its worth it.

#1 how many games have this many skills?
IMO Anet is trying to keep the interactions between skills balanced and cut down on overpowered FOTM builds. A plus IMO

#2 So new races but with the same classes and skills that are already here
What would be the point besides having pointy ears?
