Screenshot Challenge Game
Stig Figger
The popularity of the Tyria's Next Top Model thread made me wonder if GWG forum users are keen enough to play other screenshot games. My favorite aspect of TNTM is assignments that basically add to end-game enjoyment of the Guild Wars world.
Along that vein, I propose using this thread for a game where the first person posts an assignment, and the first responder who provides screenshot evidence of completing the task gets to post the next assignment, and so on.
The assignments shouldn't be impossibly challenging, but reasonably achievable within say a week's time; time enough to organize a team of friends, possibly make new friends through the forum to help out, reach a specific area in the game, and practice and perform the in-game task. Because it would be impossible to strictly regulate what challenges people think up of, individuals may find that they have no chance of competing in a particular competition (e.g. I don't have any Paragon characters so I couldn't likely get a screenshot of him say killing The Lich, in a week's time, but certainly hundreds of forums users could easily achieve this), so don't feel slighted. Assignment difficulty may need to be politely debated so please also keep an open mind when it's your turn to post one.
There won't be any rewards or other incentives for completing an assignment, other than you get to post the next one! You should wait for the assignment poster to approve the validity of your screenshot before you post the next assignment. e.g. Since I'm posting the first assignment, wait for me to give you the 'ok' before you post the next one. This will help resolve conflicts if several people happen to try posting their screenshot at roughly the same time, like for unexpectedly easy tasks.
ASSIGNMENT ONE:
Post a screenshot of an all mesmer-primary team (any number of mesmer heroes and henchman allowed, any secondary professions allowed) fighting Glint, while she's in the midst of casting Crystal Hibernation (it may show it being interrupted). All team members must also be shown to be alive at this time (i.e. show the party window). Remember to follow the GWG screenshot forum rules about fully censoring player names and offensive words.
I think it would be acceptable to use this thread to arrange teams (i.e. post your availability but then chat in-game and through PMs), and to discuss strategies.
[EDIT: Changed requirements of the first challenge to hopefully make it a little easier and/or diverse; see post #9 below. Also added an incentive for this first challenge.]

Sounds like a fun idea. I do believe you PMed me about this but I didn't get back to you... been busy. Did you make sure to run this past one of the other mods?
Like all screenshot threads, this is subject to strict rules, which I have now posted into the ops post. Spamming in between images will not be tolarated.
Otherwise enjoy...

Just saying that first assignment is kinda over strung. DOnt you think having all mesmers (one of the most unplayed class) havnt all alive with a end game mission in the boss casting a spell with all alive is too much? id say a screen shot of all mesmers standing by the corpse of glint is hard enough
germanturkey
i'm thinking that this first mission is a wee bid hard.. haha. how about something like, "find gwen's body post sear.."

I've been made aware that all-mesmer teams have accomplished very difficult things, such as clearing UW, FoW, Urgoz's Warren, The Deep, etc (i.e. google the DVDF guild). Dragon's Lair is actually a mid-game mission, and catching Glint casting Crystal Hibernation should be easier than killing her because that's what she casts when she's in trouble making it hard to kill her, and it has a 5s activation which I think is plenty of time to make sure all team members are rezzed (fast-casting mesmers!) and to get the screenshot.
Although I'm not experienced as a mesmer, my wife has one at Dragon's Lair that I can use to help anyone out who wants to shoot for this. With a shake of a stick she can also complete the quests to gain Norgu as a hero. And I know a guy named Dunham who is also willing to help . My IGNs are on the left. Availability: ~10pm-1am MST.

People got bored of this already, maybe it might be good if you restart it but make it a bit more easy. This CAN be done but most people dont want to do it just to make a few people happy.
Maybe something like having a survivor A and D on the same team ( I dunno, Something that can be done but not as easy as just going out and pressing the SS button)

I concede that the first challenge was maybe too restrictive...just trying to gauge the level of interest and eagerness. So I now propose a few different challenges to choose from, and I will also offer as a prize one spare green weapon from my very small stash (e.g. [wiki]Bludgeoner[/wiki], [wiki]Ssaresh's Kris Daggers[/wiki], [wiki]Falaharn's Split Chakrams[/wiki]) to the winner, but no-one else needs to offer prizes in the future.
I will declare the first person to complete one of the three following challenges as the winner who gets to post the next challenge(s).
1. Kill Glint with a team where all the members share the same primary profession. Any number of heroes or henchmen are allowed but the screenshot must show the party window with everyone having the same primary profession (pets are allowed if everyone is Ranger).
2. Find a player whose Level 20 character's name is some alteration of a celebrity's real-life name but still clearly recognizable (e.g. Xx Chuck Norris Xx, Chuk Noriss). You must first get permission to show his/her name in the screenshot, and then post a screenshot of the two of you posing together while both of you are under the effects of the same tonic, either [wiki]Transmogrifier Tonic[/wiki] or [wiki]Yuletide Tonic[/wiki]. Please be honest and don't use a character belonging to a friend or from a second account of yours...so either search the busy towns or try typing random names in the friends list panel.
3. Capture a screenshot of an entire team of four or more players 'mooning' your favorite >Level20 boss (hint: use /bow). The shot must clearly show everyone wagging their heinie towards the boss's face, and not behind his back while running away! Heroes and henchmen might not co-operate so try to use only real people.
(PS: How's the difficulty rating now?)

It's quite difficult, but that's what challenges are for. The only problem I see is the prize. IMO, I do not want to get an all warrior team or all ranger team to kill Glint, or "mooning" a boss JUST to get a cheap Bludgeoner, or any other green.

Well, with it being ever popular to breeze through the PvE section of all three games, what else do we the gamers have to do? Other than do the elite missions (Which many of us been there done that, got the t-shirt), Faction Farm for cities(which seems to die down) and just plaing PvP for new builds (omfg you noob!).
So dont knock it because of the prizes, it just makes it seem like no one can make us gamers do anything for free....or possibly fun, anymore. It seems what we do in Guild Wars seems only out of profit and thats not what Guild Wars is about.
Stig Figger is providing us a challenge, somethings only a few could have done or not even all. Its in a contest form, which at the beginning wasn't offering any prizes only the chance to say "I've done it!" I think thats all it should be, and not forcing us to give in for a shiny prize or gold.
Also, isnt this what everyone is complaining about, more challenges...more something, anything?
Okay...now thats off my chest, sorry but I like his idea and I'm seriously confused why no one has posted about wanting to do it with anyone. It's fun, and it doesnt take over your GW time, because come on we all know that 90% of you all have beaten on 3 campaigns. We have all the time in the world...and its not like it costs us a few platinum to atleast attempt it.
Well here is a volunteer *raises hand* anyone want to attempt the first challenge with me?

She is right. I haven't seen much to do in GW except sit around and talk to people or get something of profit.
Yet someone want's to play a game a challenge for the sake of not being BORED. Yet people complain about the challenges for fun. =P I totally agree it's pointless to complain until the OP adds a PRIZE to it and then people have the nerve to complain about it? Get lost I say.
I wouldn't mind having something to do on GW. As is I've been playing WoW more cause I got bored. =P

Much better ,)
This should give people something to aim at, Like someone said he got bored of GW and now plays WoW. This might make at least one person stay (I Hope)
