Good News and Bad News

i want to add that my monk has been able to open the treasure chests from the kourna/vabbi areas for a third time, havent tried the two istani chests yet.

Well I can confirm this.
Ok, I was on early tonight and I was talking to a guildie of mine who is actually really trusting and the first thing he asks me when I got on was "hey...are you able to to get the chests?" So I asked him "you mean the free treasure chests?" he said "yeah". I said..."well, I already got them, they all say they are empty". I check after every update to see if they got resetted. He then said that early this evening or early this afternoon (cant remember which) he was able to get the chests again. I've gone with him the two previous times (the original and then the unintential setback), and tonight he was able to get them for a THIRD time on his Sin and Dervish (the characters he used awhile back). I'm not sure if it was some rare glitch or what, but this guildie of mine, who I trust as a friend, wouldnt have gone out of his way to mention something like this especially since it is not of his personal character to "make things up". At first I thought, he might have forgotten about them on one of his characters and he was just mistaken, but when he mentioned his Sin and Derv, I knew something was strange. His other characters tho, werent able to unlock them again for a third time. Both I and another guildie went to went out to try the chests, but came up empty. Strange: yes!

I opened the one in Vabbi on the day of the reset with my Mesmer, and still no third, but I'll keep looking. This would freaking RULE.

Ok more info to add. I have 10 characters to test this on and here are the results:

Characters that could open a third time so far: Monk, Elementalist, Ranger, Dervish, Warrior, Assassin and Mesmer

Characters that couldnt open a third time so far: Paragon, Ritualist and Necromancer

I'm going to try again with those that couldn't tommorow. At this point, I believe that some characters can and some cant and its random as to who can. So try opening on different characters. Also if you can open one chest on for the third time on a character you should be able to open all 12 for a third time on that character. Will need more feedback to figure out this mystery...please post what you find out.

I couldn't open it with any of my characters and I opened these chests on the 2nd respawn on the same day it respawned, with all of them. I'm surprised I'm not able to yet, I know I didn't do it this late.

Okay, I was able to re-open for a third time, all the chests Vabbi-Pre on my monk.

...I didn't know it could ever give you purple?

And this whole "third time for some characters in some accounts" doesn't really make any sense..... We seriously need some hard proof on this.

Maybe it's a month after your last open? I don't remember when I opened last, might have been a bit after it reset. No chests for me atm.

Are these chests HONESTLY worth all this running trouble? i haven't bothered to open mine ever... maybe I should?

if u have something more profitable then 25plat +13 gold items / hour (if u run them all it takes u about an hour) then ignore these treasures

Free money and items in areas that are easy to get to, what's there to make it not worth it?

25k per character + 13 gold items which can be something rare and expensive = totally worth it.

Okay I don't understand. I have 9 characters that got each chest two times. But only my monk, of whom opened them all last, got to open them for a 3rd time. No one else. ??

I just got inspiration to log back in and look. Will post tomorrow if I was able to.

I just tried with my Necro and he wasn't able to open any for a third time. But it is true that my second openings were less than a month ago, in case that is significant.

After trying all of my PvE characters, my Monk and Assassin can open them a third time.

...and I can't remember exactly when I did open them with my mesmer and elementalist....

ijust tried with my ranger and monk, ranger got it, monk didnt, and i am 100% sure both are the 3 rd time, glad that i have 8 chars done NF, gonna test em all
