I dont know about anyone else but one of the biggest thrills in PvE for me was finding some small town off in the middle of nowhere. Nothing else game me so much satisfaction in the game. I would love to see more little towns, or shrines or ruins and things like that tucked into little corners of the map or off in the middle of nowhere or something like that. I mean not an obsene amount, but just a bunch of them dotting the map.

A small town that "Player help built" always intrigue me. would be fun to have a small group of settlers out in the a certain location of exploration map where you have to help them build up a town (getting the builder/carpenter, hiring crafts man, getting supplies, help defend from monster, etc) Eventually, at some level, it could turn into an outpost that only you would be able to access. You would get a real feel of acchievement watching the town grow and have NPC say thank you and want to marry their daughter/son to you. And since it is in the instantize zone, it could be custum to your progress.

You would also do something in revers. Take a small town and run it to ruin. (lead monster to attack, assassinate mayor, hire "Bad People" to corrupt its populace, posion water and spread disease, etc etc) And see a livily town reduce to ash and stone under your evil needs.

Of couse, how to settle its progress when you have more than one person in the group would be a minor problem. One way is the "Team-leader" effect, where map is instanize to the progress of the team leader. Another would be to create such location in a smaller seperate zone, that when group with more than one human player, it would show nothing.

i like the small places that offer thngs to you but dont show up on the map, like ascalon settlement. i think there should be more out-of-town NPCs. and the area south of the ridge in southern shiverpeaks should be put to use, with some level 28ish monsters [lvl 32 bosses] and some NPCs that offer stuff
