Farming Beach + Cave in FoW with Paragon - vol.2
Milan-V
I've shown you the older version of the Paragon farm build before. It used a axe, not really using the total capacity of the Paragons DPS. This time I've changed it, with a great outcome
First I'll show you the skills:
And the gear:
Running to the farming spot:
First thing to do is to actually get to the farming grounds. I kinda like to cheat doing that: I use hero's as a meatshield and to give me the needed speed buff. I guess you won't have much problem solving that out.
So when you run past the first mob, you will be alone. Not much problem since Fall Back is the best running skill ingame. Just run as always and you will have no problems whatsoever.
When you lure the first mob of Driftwoods the real action starts. From now on you will be farming Driftwoods and Spiders for about 30 minutes (yes, 10 minutes slower than the warrior can do).
How to survive in battle:
This goes pretty straight forward: first you get all the echo's on yourself and you go in Physical Resistence. Use Focused Anger and from then on spam Go for the Eyes and your spear attack skills. Refresh Focussed Anger and Finale of Restoration. Easy I tell you; you can get as much Driftwoods aggro'd as you wish (which will be around 9).
Spiders on the other hand are a bit harder to handle. The spider you attack will be using Healing Spring so you must attack AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Time the refreshments of your Finale of Restoration/Focussed Anger! Also spiders hit a bit harder than the driftwoods will ever do. Wisely you don't lure too much (I can handle 6 at the time)
How battle should look like:
I have a video ready to be seen at youtube. The quality is a bit bad I must say, but you will get the idea
---> How to do it
Good luck and Happy farming!

Far better then previous Paragon build (I didnt like because it mostly used W skills)
My paragon has gone 0 lvls up last month so it will be a long time before he will see FoW

Looks great. Also can you not just stand in melee range of the spiders that way they dont activate healing spring? Nice job on the guide

Fantastic Job soloing the FoW with the Paragon!
Watching the video I had an idea Perhaps use burning finale instead of Blazing spear perhaps. It would allow for the group surrounding you to be significantly weaker when you get around to each one. (just a thought)
Amazing build, I like your use of mending refrain and finale of restoration I think ill be doing some solo farming with that combo

And yes you can take Blazing finale, but it will doe 2 seconds burning and not extra damage unlike the attack skill.

They will use it

Try a different skill instead of spear of lightning.. I can't remember that well but i'm not sure the +25% penetration would go through the +30 armour vs elemental that the spiders have.

Good Point. Maybe something like Vicious Attack. Since GftE will be up giving you a decent chance for a deep wound.

Didn't know that
But I want a none-condition skill since Spiders will use Melandru's Resilence, niether do I want to wait 3 secs for the skill. So I guess it will be Weariying or just Spear of Lightning. Well I'm off for vacation this week now, so I won't be able to answer quetions, unless they have wireless internet there Crazyvietguy
So I've done a few successful runs but I was wondering.. Anyone find a better way for dealing with the skales.
So far Ancient Skales > Me.. most of the runs i die in are a result of the skales. Anyone have an ideas? I thought hex breaker, but I'm pretty sure it only works on one hex. Lelle Adivo
It's not a serious damage reduction with 15^50 for the first little bit but i still prefer while in a stance inscription just for constantness.
Crazyvietguy
I agree the +15 in stance is much more beneficial. However I'm still having a huge problem with skales..
I've tried Hexbreaker Aria and Hex Breaker.. both dont help all that much.. looks like ill have to dodge better. speedy21589
Just thinking, if you swapped to a +4 motivation headpiece (+1 and +3 from sup rune), shouldn't you be able to get a +4 mending refrain? and then refreshing chants and stuff should allow you to keep that up indefinitely.
clawofcrimson
I like it...however I like doing it on the w/rit much better...sooo much less stress

Mate just a quick question, why is your hp so low on the video its like always 40% yet you have a 15^50% weapon, why not use a 15v50% weapon then?
clawofcrimson
for anyone who is interested... we are taking all paragon parties to FOW the next upcoming weekends....

Well actually in the movie that doesnt happen a lot, from my experience. The best mod would actually be +15%(while in stance). Thats what I use
Evilsod
Why no Aggressive Refrain? I hardly think an unremovable IAS once you get started attacking would also mean you'd be recasting GtfE ridiculously often, speeding up the health gained from Finale of Restoration so probably meaning you could tank more or survive more easily vs 6. It seems Spear of Lightning isn't all that favoured.

You were very close to death against those Driftwoods . . . very impressive! I especially like how you use almost all Paragon skills. Inspires me to play my Paragon more! What armor/runes/etc do you use?
ACreator
I just hoped we could find a way to kill those ancient skales

Yes, I know it's been a while since someone posted in this thread. I feel I'm adding to it as well as helping some people find a build they might not have known about because of how old the thread is.
This build is still very viable and I use it a lot in FoW. Except, I switched out Spear of Lightning for Spear of Fury. More damage on top of the adrenaline bonus. I usually go in this order and it works very well: GFtE->Blazing Spear->Spear of Fury->GFtE->Blazing Spear. Once you start that combo, it doesn't take long to amount some good damage and speed this run up. I've also been toying with Drunken Master over Fall Back, at least until I get tired of the wavy screen from being drunk. Gives a nice IAS boost on top of the IMS so you can kill faster. The only place it slows down at is in caves when dealing with the spiders. Ran this several times yesterday farming seeds for Nick items this week. |
