This is a petition move Blood Song back into the communing line and move Anguished was Lingwah into channeling line instead.
If you read up on the Blood Song thread in the Skill Changes public forum data the response was overwhelming to move Blood Song back to communing and move Anguished was Lingwah into Channeling as this simply makes more sense. I have been playing a Ritualist since Factions was released and this move really perplexes many others and mine understanding of the communing skill line. Currently the Ritualist Class in Factions (Factions only skills builds) has taken a very heavy blow. Please do not harm this GEM of a class any more than you already have.
ANET you claim you did the open beta to get player feedback and feedback you got. Please read it and show us Ritualist players some integrity and please openly respond to the feedback given.

The move was suppost to improve the channeling magic line. Instead of adjusting 1 skill (specifically blood song), they should buff the rest of the channeling magic line.

Channeling is ALOT better now with bloodsong in it, some of the channeling skills need a spirit to really be effective, and its nice to now have a spirit that will actually do something (like attack) rather than HAVING to use distruction. If you want bloodsong moved back to communing then perhaps move anguish to channeling and reduce its energy cost, cause channeling drains your energy really quickly anyway.

As people have already said having a cheap spirit that does somehting in the channeling line is very useful. I liked this change when it came in keep it as it is.

I really had stopped bothering with Channeling, it was either that OR communing, but now i like it, it works for me.
I quite like Blood Song being there, it gave my Rit a whole new lease of life.

It doesn't matter if you would like to have it on your communing build. A lot of channelers like me enjoy having at least a couple of binding spells. If you want to use bloodsong so badly then just add in a few points to channeling magic and you can use it pretty well. Moving bloodsong back to communing would weaken channeling magic and I don't want to lose power in the arena or during missions because a few people couldn't handle the transition from full summonings to damaging spells.

Bloodsong was a VERY nice skill, but now it's rather useless. You have to pump up your spawning power to use it effectively, and in a channeling rit that just doesn't have a place (most split between channeling and restoration). Now though, I just bring Dulled Weapon (i think that's what it's called) and put down Anguish. It's hard on the energy, but oh well.

Which is what flipping anguished would do as well, give channeling an item and a spirit in one move.

Anguished costs 15 energy, and Channeling has plenty of nice item spells. Lower the cost to 10, then alright. And can Channeling get Anguish as well, it goes so nice with painful bond...

/agree. Having read through the posts, channelers were rather happy to get a free spirit that synergized with their attribute, whereas communers were clearly wronged in the process. I suggest anet move bloodsong back to communing where it belongs, but create a new spirit under channeling aptly named, spirit of channeling;copy and paste of bloodsong currently in the channeling line. Having played a ritualist, an offensive spirit in channeling to synergize with the spirit buffs/hexes does make sense, but at the same time, getting ripped off with the bloodsong move made me feel like anet forced "bad things" on me; its just so wrong.

Anyways after a little time, I like the move of bloodsong out of communing (which is a bad line) into channeling (which is a good one). I really hope ANet decides to move Pain as well.

and that's why the suggested change would actualy be decent. Channeling just uses the spirit to power their spells, and communing needs every spirit it can get its hands on (the old communing nerf pretty much left the attribute dead).

what this class needs is simple a bigger variety of aggressive Spirits like Blood Song for Communing, Channeling, but especially Spawning Power needs more Spirits, this attribute has only 1 crap spirit, that has a weak support effect.
I'm for example stil waiting for a wonderful Elite Ghost, that counterattacks damage, whenever its master receives damage, or a nice Spirit, that attacks multiple targets at once.
A Spirit, like vampirism, that doesn't leech HP, but Energy instead. vampirism IS not so extreme powerful, that it has to be a pve only skill...
Also the ritualist needs more spirits, that can deal with their attacks negative conditions. yet the ritualist has with Shadow Song only 1 spirit, that deals a condition, thats imo way too less.
Why has anet given the rit not also spirits, that deal with their attacks condition,s like cripple, daze, burning or deep wound.
Would be very good for Ritualists to give them such Spirits, but meh, na, Anet gave this class instead way too much useless elite skils , useless Urn Skills or some more or less useless weapon spells.
I really want to see Rits havign Skills like these:

Revenge[E] (Spawning Power)
You will create a Lvl x Spirit for the next xx-xx second. Whenever its master receives Damage, as long the Spirit lives, will the source of the Damage receive 50-75% of the dealed Damage back as Lightning Damage
Reflection [E] (the heal attribute)
You will create a Lvl x Spirit for the next xx-xx second. As long as this spirit is living, the spirit will suck up every negative condition of nearby Allies every 4 seconds and storing the condition in itself up. (max 5 different conditions)
When the spirit dies then, it will reflect all its sored up conditions to all enemies in the earshot with +25-50% longer duration. Once the store is filled with 5 different contions, this spirit will die automatically and release its deadly load.
Burning Passion (Communing)
You will create a Lvl x Spirit for the next xx-xx second. This Spirit will deal xx-xx fire damage and it attacks will cause its targets to start burning for 1-5 seconds. If this spirit gets attacked with fire or burning, this spirit will get healed of it.
Death Fear (Communing)
You will create a Lvl x Spirit for the next xx-xx second. This spirit will deal xx-xx ice damage and its attacks will cripple and disease foes. if this spirit gets attacked with ice, it will get healed.
just only to list some possible ghosts, the game imo really needs to make ritus more better Spirit Spammers with more versatility for attacking ghosts, other then only pain, blood song, vampirism and shadow song

You can still have a very effective channeling rituatlist without Bloodsong.
Since it's been over a year, I'll go ahead and /sign this again, although I doubt A-Net will make any changes.

Now, it's simply not worth the investment in communing to keep up Pain and one of the other spirits, when channeling is simply a more powerful line.
To me, Channeling was just fine with Destruction as its key spirit, although it was annoying to have to recast it pretty often (but, as a channeler, you are more likely to be mobile than a communer). Bloodsong's true benefit to the Channeler is its long duration, but that could've been accomplished other ways.
As I've mentioned before, if they simply changed Anguished was Lingwah to drop a Bloodsong spirit rather than a duplicate Pain spirit, I think communers would've been happy.
But, as you mention above and as it stands today, communing is probably one of the least used attributes of ALL classes in GW.

I find it rather ironic how many communing rits there were at one point, and how anet's decision to bring balance the force and nerf communing to create more channeling rits has resulted in the opposite happening; now there are many channelers and few communers. I remember when Factions local mission chats only consisted of 'lf comm rits'. But what can people expect? Communing didn't get the nerf bat, it got the nerftreestump; the Giant Sequoia kind.

Channeling, imo, is better then communing to focus on because it has plenty of actual attack skills and I like blood song where it is, communing seems more like something to be used more on a support base, personally I think that pain should be moved to channeling but thats just me.

What Arkantos said. Putting a good spirit back into a bad line will just kill it. Communing has [pain]. Channeling has no other good cheap spirits to fuel things like OoS and essence strike anyways.
