im fairly new to the game and dervish was my first pick. im doing ok so far but dont have a build that really stands out or lets me get very far without a full team of henchies at least

tell me what you think or how i could improve this.

thanks

it's a D/E build with focus on earth damage. i currently use an ebon scythe as well.

Well... Avatar of Balthazar would make you do holy damage... (but I have no idea how this stacks with staggering force :s) If I were to focus on earth damage I'd take Ebon Dust Aura as an elite... blinding enemies with every attack skill...

If so the 130hp Dervish is one, tiny, option while there are other solo builds around here somewhere that even beat the 130hp Dervish for survivability.

If you're looking for a build that you can run with heroes and henchmen (albiet not all 8 slots filled up) then you should focus on conditioning yourself for the areas you're in.

If you're going Earth damage, you'll want Ebon Dust Aura and since you'll probably have a decent Earth prayer line you should bring along Mystic Regeneration if anything it is the best heal-over-time and is something to keep you a low-priority target in the eyes of AI.

My main concern about your build is the energy....

[skill]Avatar of balthazar[/skill] 10 energy
[skill]Mirage cloak[/skill] 15 energy
[skill]zealous renewal[/skill] 10, gives you energy back, but that takes 20 sec, and activating alone costs 10 e, (not a big fan of it)
[skill]Lyssa's Assault[/skill] 10e, at 16 scythe you only get 3 e netto back. And again activating it alone is 10 e
[skill]Staggering Force[/skill] also 10 energy
[skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill] Nice skill, but in later PvE not very usefull, since the monsters will generally have more health than you.
[skill]Glowstone[/skill] conditional, not really suited for a melee char, staggering force must end before this becomes somewhat 'usefull', and you dont have any enchantment removal skills. So a No

your skills combined require 65 energy, thats way too much. And you dont have any Hard dmg... So this build could use some changes. Yeah ofcourse you get energy back when an enchantment ends, but I still think your energy wont make it....

Please dont take this the wrong way, dont want to be offending you or somethin' ^^

yeah im currently looking at alot of stuff right now. the first 2 or 3 is what is what im pretty much basing this build on. then stuff that adds energy and keeps my health and defense up.

Actually, Lyssa's Assault is the best energy return skill I have seen on a derv save the pure nature of the Derv itself. His build has little punch, so he needs to do more damage to be effective.

meh, I have to disagree. Its nice to have some energy back. But thats only 3 netto at 16 scythe. And activating it costs 10 e. So in this build its impossible to use propperly. A zealous scythe with 5e scythe skills works much better. That way you can spam your attack more often.

And I'm not a big fan of avatars (accept for AB). When activating there good. But they have a 2 minute downtime. In which there useless. Avatar of balthazar is IMO the best skill for running purposses. Not for normal PvE. Hmz, maybe against summoned creatures because of balthy's holy damage.

You can better take an attack skill which doesnt have a huge down time. Like my Elite : [skill]Reaper's Sweep[/skill] , +42 damage with 16 scythe. and Deep wound under 50 % health.

Offcourse this is my oppinion. If you feel balth. suits you. I'm not going to stop you =P. Just told you an alternative.

I tried this in PvP and it worked pretty well:

avatar of balth
armor of earth
ward agianst melee
zealous renewal
aura of thorns
conviction
crippling sweep
victorious sweep

I have this set up now and trying it out today to see how it works:
im thinking about replacing mirage cloak with sliver armor. i ordered factions and am waiting for it to get in the mail so i cant use it yet, but im wanting to try it out.

avatar of balth
glyph of lesser energy
armor of earth
mirage cloak
zealous renewal
mystic regeneration
victorious sweep
lyssa's assault

my attributes are:
Earth Magic: 2
Scythe: 15 (I think I can fit in another rune to get 16 scythe)
Earth Prayers: 8
Mysticism: 10

Right now I have the pre-order scythe equiped and an ebon scythe in storage.

Avatars are better in pvp. And I see u use more 5e skills, which is good. And conviction stacks good with avatar of balth. So thats a plus. only I'm not to sure about the ward. But hey, if it works for you.

the build I use for pvp:

RA, TA:
[skill]Reaper's Sweep[/skill] [skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill] [skill]Wild Blow[/skill] [skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill] [skill]Heart of Fury[/skill] [skill]Mystic Vigor[/skill] [skill]Harrier's Haste[/skill] and Rez

AB and GvG:
[skill]Avatar of Balthazar[/skill] [skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill] [skill]Crippling Sweep[/skill] [skill]Wild Blow[/skill] [skill]Faithful Intervention[/skill] [skill]Conviction[/skill] [skill]Mystic Vigor[/skill] [skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill]

Note that Energy is never a problem (with a zealous scythe) because my max amount of 10 e skills is only 2 ^^

But I shouldn't be posting that here, since this is a PvE forum ^^

i dont use ward much, when i do use it the person im attacking runs out of it so its kinda pointless, which is why im trying mirage cloak. its costly tho which is why i have glyph of lesser energy.
