Question about pvp using monk

Ok well i'm having a problem using monk, mainly in pvp, i haven't tried PvE. But i am having survivability issues, i see other monks being near impossible to kill, but i get like 2 and 3 shotted. 3 seconds and i'm done. what spell combo should i have to be both a party healer but also have the ability to survive more than 3 seconds in a fight

I would suggest playing it in PvE first to get a hang of it and you won't be pressured by ppl.It is best to play mostly protect in PvP with a little in heal or devine.I would really recommend learning the role in PvE first.I am not going to give you any build suggestions unless you fully understood its role even us Veteran Monks need some advice from time to time.

Take a look at your equipment first: you should have 600+ health easily. If this is not the case, you need to do the following:
1) Replace any superior runes with minors/majors (depending on build)
2) Use a superior vigor
3) Use a +30hp weapon and +30hp shield
4) Use runes of vitae in any open slots
Second, learn some positioning and battlefield awareness. Don't stand somewhere that increases your vulnerability. Kite enemies. Pre-prot.
Finally, post your skillbar so people can critique it for you.
PvE will only help PvP in teaching you what skills do what. It is entirely worthless for actually learning how to *play*, because the AI is terrible.

/agree with age, get used to monking before you take it to pvp, and for gods sake please dont take heal other or healing breeze, they are massive wastes of energy

Take a peek at the Becoming a better monk thread, some good points.
And Superior runes have no place on monk armor outside of the Troll Cave.

tho we need to know more to help u burst has most of it covered, and so does the person who posed in ur other thread. in PVP when ur a solo monk protection prayers is normaly the way to go and can save u a hell of a lot. times when u have 2 sins bassing u with the hex that solws ur movment, i cast SOA once, then remove veil and im off taking 0 dam, and with dismiss the heal on that out does the degen.
