The Wizardry Players Guild [WPG] was formed in the game by Ashlock Hammerhand on May 22, 2005.

Third Way [TW] was formed the day the game came out, though there were a number of guilds already around, and i think guilds formed in the beta were allowed to stay, not sure

My Guild was formed on the 8th of May 2005, I joined around May 16th and I took over as Guild Leader in about August 2005. Many of the original members are still in the Guild and we've been capping our size to 94 for nearly a year now.

The guild presently belong to is really old and big :P. It is always in the high 90's range and although i am not sure of how old it is exactly, it is SNOW., and is the successor of the European guild The red Rose.

The Zealots of Shiverpeak are the oldest Guild Wars guild, founded by Frostraven and Iceblaze well before the game's release. Our members include both developer staff and alpha testers, and their efforts have put ZoS on the map--literally! Our guild has earned numerous rewards from ArenaNet, which we are proud to display here. It is our goal to continue to add to this list of honors through our dedication, creativity, and love for Guild Wars.
1. First Guild EVER created in Guild Wars.
2. Factions Challenge Mission (Zos Shivros Channel) named after Zealots of Shiverpeak. As part of the reward for the hard work of a select number of Zealots on the Factions official strategy guide, ArenaNet named a challenge mission in honor of the guild: Zos Shivros Channel. It is the goal of the ZoS to eventually accumulate enough Luxon faction to claim the area. Note that the guild Amazon Basin received an equal reward in having the mission Amatz Basin named after them.
3. Collector NPCs named after ZoS members. Ten members of the Zealots of Shiverpeak worked on the Factions official strategy guide, and part of the reward was an NPC Collector placed into the game named after each of the members. Their real names were used, but distorted to protect the innocent. All 10 ZoS members can be found on the credits page of the Prima Official Factions Strategy Guilde. Their names are: Andrew Patrick ("Quaken Frostraven"), John Stumme ("Spooky Electric"), Debbie Currie ("Darkness Diva"), Mark Currie ("Bruver Marauder"), Jonathan Durain ("Cait Sith"), Xavier Marchena ("Mercedes De Leone"), Dennis McCollum ("Inzane One"), Dmitry Sharkov ("Sciros Darkblade"), Christopher Triolo ("Thardus Duran"), and John Turtle ("Satanic Slayer"). Yeah, in earlier GW videos I saw the players had the Zealots of Shiverpeak guild cape, and I always had said to myself "that must be some really old, perhaps even ANet-intertwined guild".

You can't really class ZoS as being the oldest active guild, because they were made by Anet...
My last guild (Trans Tasman Alliance [TTA]) formed 2 weeks to a month after release I believe, and are still going.

I know that sister-guilds "DVD Forums [DVDF]" and "Angel Sharks [DVDF]" were created during the beta.
Back when guild wars as announced, me and a friend created a guild including a forum, and attracted something like 50 members or so. We played during the beta, and for a few months after release, but the guild eventually disbanded (probably for the better).
