1st off , sorry for the new thred , but I have tried and cant find this anywere..

So In the guild halls , why cant we get even basic skills from the skill trainer for Dervish , paragon, assasin , or ritulist .. I mean seriously Anet, the guy cost 100k and there arn't many skills at all... is this going to be patched or have I just lost 100k for nothing.

The guild hall skill trainer only offers unlocked Core skills. He is really not worth the 100K, IMO.

i'm willing to guarantee they wont because then people who dont have a certain campaign will still be able to go to the guild hall and buy the skills.

On the plus side, it makes it easy to get a cap sig any time you want (as long as you are out of pre-searing).

The GH skill guy is only useful for quick cap sigs, and that's still not worth the 100k cost. He should carry all skills unlocked on your account. :X

Unlocked core skills, which is 70% stuff you get in basic training, so you have most of anyway - the only thing you won't is sig o' caps.

Its been that way for at least 9 months. My old guild bought one 9 months ago and it was like that so dont expect it to change.

It is definitely the last NPC to buy for your guild hall.

The only use is for Signets of Capture, Core skills when you change your secondary profession and core skills for new characters (again this usually means only your secondary profession, unless you created a second character with the same profession for some reason.)

GH skill trainer only sells Core game skills and ones you've unlocked via PvP. Essentially its a waste unless you have a lot of faction and unlock the skills you want to buy.

BTW: Nice name and avatar Locutas. And cool guild name. Its good to see Star Trek fans.

Well, you have a couple of choices.
1. You can go through the game and get the skills as you progress (the long way).
2. Do some PvP, unlock the skills for your account, and then go to some Skill Trainer in Elona and buy the skill. I usually make it easy and map to Kamadan. Great way to get some of those skills that you only find at Skill Trainers really late in the game (like Mending Touch).

The Skill Trainer NPC for the GH is actually pretty useless. Like everyone else said, I wouldnt even bother with it but if you are annoyed by having a missing NPC, definitely make it the last NPC on your list.

/signed for campaign specific skill trainers!

It would be nice to have them available, and shouldn't be too hard to block them from use by people who don't have the respective campaigns on their accounts. But the 100K price tag is way to steep.

Since not all the skills guys have cap sigs, it's the only good reason for having a skill guy in the guild hall.

There are a lot of ST fans here. It took me several tries of different names before I got this misspell of Rikers name. I wanted Data, because as the funniest guy on STTNG, he is my favorite. But it was taken.

Data and Spot FTW

I've noticed it for a while, but I like how your avatar's armor has that STTNG feel. It would be nice to see a ST series have that same feel again.

Ok, so can someone clear this up for me? I'm confoosed.

The skill trainer is useless (I knew this for a while)

But, can you buy any skill you've unlocked from him? Or just Core skills? A post above said only core, and then the other posts confused me.

If any unlocked skill can be bought... that opens up posibilities. Of course, we now have Tomes for that. Said tomes are also cheaper than skills.

G + click for a skill cap is the what I like about him. Pure convenience. If you're short on cash, I'd probably skip it.

Just to clarify since there seems to be some confusion, the guild hall skills merchant is only for core skills that have been unlocked on your account not all core skills. This became less useful after ANet updated all merchants to sell unlocked skills for core + their campaign. It is more of a legacy item that allowed easy access for the core professions before that update. That being said, he is still very useful for grabbing cap sigs, especially if you do so regularly.

Same thing as others have been saying.... All unlocked skills should be there... not just the core.

But admittedly he was the second guy I got for my guildhall and I don't regret it.... not least because sometimes it is a pain in the arse to find somewhere with Cap Sigs... and a lot easier to just port back to the Hall and nab a few.

Last NPC to get in the Guildhall?
Pfah... THAT dubious honour falls with the Rare Scroll Trader. I'm never going to find a need to buy that guy.

Instead of posting yet a 3rd time, next time just delete the double post. Go to the bottom right of your post and click on edit. Then click on delete message and check off of the box to delete and then click on the "delete this message" button.

And that's exactly why I got it. Glad you noticed. I had the 15k pyro armor but I like that this looked like the uniforms from STTNG

So I am sitting here at work and I'm like, "No, that can't be right."
"The guild hall skill trainer has to have skills for any of the professions that you have access to...he's just gotta!"
"...These guys just don't know what they are talking about."

So, I log in with my Para and map to the guild hall.
As I run towards the skill dealer, a slight despondent panic sets in, "What if they are right?...and why didn't I ever notice?"

*Click* Skill Trainer

*jaw drops open*

In the famous words of Moe Szyslak, "Whaaa?"

The OP is right on the mark…this doesn’t really make any sense. What if you only have characters that are comprised of NF professions?

Only Core skills, wich means no NF skills whatsoever, 'cause they aren't core. no Dervish/Paragon skills whatsoever, 'cause they aren't core.

you forgot no assasion and no ritulist skills aswell , but I get your point x4 ...

Its still a pain in the but , that I didn't know that to start with .. I figured a Skills merchant , would , you know , have some ( insret words here) skills for any char.
