Demonic Chests

Demonic Chests in Domain of Anguish don't spawn anymore, can anyone tell me the reason?
I'm thinking anet want to stop the massive chest running in Stygian Veil and Gloom am i right?

Yes i've had that too. Chest run through all of the city and there where no chests, i thought something was up. Maybe a glitch?

Its to increase the value of the items imo, before you could just run out and grab the stygian one that spawned the middle, repeatedly. Now you need to do the quests to access them.

did few runs in Gloom and no chests either. hmm

i did a few in Gloom and on the first run got two chests.. then none for the next two runs,, then one on the next..

This is a pattern I've been seeing in a few places recenly, while running chests. All the usual chest are there on the first rune, and hardly any (or none at all) on subsequent runs. I didn't do thorough testing yet, but it got to the point where I was thinking they'd nerfed chest running.

It's not that the chests aren't there, it's that chests no longer spawn until the mobs they are tied to spawn. All chests are tied to a group of monsters. If that group of monsters does not spawn initially then the chests tied to them will not either. The most obvious places you can see this change is in Gloom at the Cave or Stygian. Check for chests in those areas, you'll see none, then talk the the NPC that spawns those groups and frequently you will see chests suddenly appear as mobs spawn.

same thing in the uw i belive. did 4 runs, got 3 keydrops, but no chests in sight. althouh i only went to the smite area.
