Factions chars exp from other campaigns?

Hey,
Just after a little clarification, Me and a friend both started off in factions and then someone took us to where the 1st missions starts in Prophecies since we thought lets just go through the campaigns in order they were released.

But we have done the 1st 5 missions in prophecies and just arrived at The Frost Gate, and so far we have gained no experience from any of the 5 missions we have completed and on 4 of the missions we did the bonus.
On the 2 missions we did of factions we got exp for standard, expert and master ranks (or how ever the ranks go)

Can a character from factions not gain any mission completion exp and bonus exp from completing missions in prophecies and Nightfall? or do we have to complete the 13 Factions missions 1st?

We were both lvl 14 and still are lvl 14 after ccompleting theese 1st 5 prophecies missions.

The first missions in Tyria do not give XP if you are from another chapter.

If you're from Cantha or Elona, you don't get any exp from doing earlier missions (before LA) in Prophecies.

Yep. It's same for all non-native characters. You do not gain xp or skill points for missions before the city with port (Lion's Arch, Kaineng, Kamadahn). In Prophecies, that's several missions, in other two chapters it's only 2.

But they do count towards Protector title.

yes the first mission you will get rewards for is D'Alessio Seaboard----and all the ones after that.....you will also be able to do the quests from LA (well, most of them) and get the skill rewards if you dont already have them from the core professions.......I have taken all of my factions characters thru prophecys for this reason----free skills and the missions are easy skill points.
