W/E Axe/Shock
Holy
I have seen lately quite a few people that say they either cant find a Axe Shock build or dont like this build:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Build:W/E_Shock_Axe
My version of this build is not very different, but it manages energy better and it is designed to keep pressure on casters (mainly monks) and to spike down low health enemies.
SKILLS:
Eviscerate [E]
Executioner's Strike
Shock
Lacerating Chop
Bull's Strike
Rush
Healing Signet
Res Signet
ATTRIBUTES:
Air Magic 2
Axe Mastery 12+3 (Superior Rune of Axe Mastery
Tactics 8+2(Minor Rune of tactics and Helm w/ Tactics mod)
Strength 10+1 (minor rune of Strength)
ARMOR
Gladiator's Hauberk Energy+3
Gladiator's Leggings Energy+2
Dreadnought's Boots (reccomended) Any others will do too.
a helm with a Tactics Mod +1 (i use the Ascalon 15k helm)
Stonefist Gountlets (they increase your KD time by 1 second.)
WEAPONS
Axe
Zealous Axe of Fortitude 1/-1 dmg+15%(hp^50%) hp+30 would be one choice, however its up to what you want.
i use The Razorstone or a Shocking Axe of Shelter.
Shield
Either tactics or Strength Shield will work, since both your attributes allow up to a req.10 shield.
i reccomend stats like dmg-5(20%) hp+30 ex. Exalted Aegis or Weaponsmith in HzH/Cavalon. Again it is up to your tastes.
The major point of this build is to be able to knock down enemies when using key skills to their build Do not waste your energy by using shock whenever you feel like it. Since Eviscerate/Executioner's Chop will be the main skills you use they should be in the front of your Skill Bar. MAKE SURE that when you knock down your target in whatever way (Shock/Bull's Strike) that you hit Lacerating Chop to cause bleeding on your target, as that is the point of having this skill.
This is it. Please tell me what you think. It isn't very different from the original build, but it puts on one more condition, and uses less energy.
Thank you.

Lacerating Chop sucks. If you wanted bleeding then go play as a Sword Warrior with Server Artery+Gash.

I've used this build before in PvP. Its very good, however I prefer W/A for comfort reasons, just more comfortable playing it I guess.

Lacerating Chop needs a serious buff =/ I'd think about using it if it made the target bleed if they have a deep wound.
Make sure your axe mastery is 12 + 2 + 1. If you got 12 + 3 (using a sup), then you're losing tons of health.

I guess it may suck if used alone, but it is there to keep pressure on Monks since not only would they have to heal a traget being followed by a Shock war constantly, but they would have to be removing conditions all the time, given if u are good at timing Bull's Strike u can keep adding Bleeding very frequently as well as knocking down...

Axe spiking without an IAS = fail
Arkantos
A shock axe with no IAS? Fail.
Katari
Not to mention the +1 tactics hat. Lacerating Chop isn't better than Frenzy.

If you are using a shocker you will need an IAS and max weapon mastery, without those you fail.

12 axe mastery + Axe headgear + Major axe = -35hp
12 axe mastery + Sup axe = -75hp
You're losing a massive 40hp.
Absorbtion runes are also a waste in pvp.

A tactics helm and no IAS? Do you even play PVP? Don't try to improve upon things until you understand what makes them good in the first place.

Being the PvP noob that I am, I had to look up what IAS was, but I'd have to agree, laying about with my axe 33% faster is a very important tool. On lighter armored foes who don't have monk support *right now*, I find it's often sufficient by itself to finish them off. Being into strength, I like Tiger Stance myself.
Squishy ftw

I got the weird feeling that he already knows this. Considering the fact that this thread is 10 months old..
