Help with Venta Cemetary mission
WhirlingDervish
Ok well any help with this would be much appreciated. I know this sounds stupid but i can not get through this stupid mission, i have tried about 7 times and i'm sick of it. I keep on getting blown up by the garrison, how do i avoid being killed in a matter of seconds while getting all 12 guard towers disabled and help or tips on this to get me past this mission would be great. Also anyone willing to help me in game let me know

It could be two things
- You don't kill the gards fast enough : The groups around the guard posts trigger a timer when they see your team, I think they spawn quite a lot of enemies. The "normal" groups shouldn't be a problem. Solution : Increase DPS, sometime subtelty is not the best option and a good old nuker will serves you well enough.
-You go a bit too close to the central fortress : when it happened to me, the scene looked like this : 2 arrow shot at me (i was in the front)
AoE, everyone at 90% hp
.25 sec later, everyone but one(maybe 2) people alive
.20 (meybe .15) sec later, last one down. I understand I must avoid the fortress.
Solution : dont go near it, the goal is somewhere else.

you just gotta stay with in a far away range of the garrison. Not hard if you dont want masters.

thank you for all the help. at this point i don't care about master's i just want to get through this mission and continue with the storyline

You can get master's without getting insta-killed by the garrison, as long as you approach the two nearest guard posts (the ones slightly northwest of it) from behind.

If you're getting blown up by the garrison, then you're just too close. If you're going for masters, then you need to be more careful on where you attack from. But if you just want to pass the mission, avoid the garrion in the middle totally.
An easy way is to head south from the start, sort of hug the bottom and go west. You end up only having to fight like 3 guardposts or so and you won't get fired on at all. At the end, there's a mass of patrols, you can be careful and pull them off and kill them one at a time, or flag your heroes in as decoys while you run straight for margrid. Ends the mission either way.

In Nightfall the Mission Map map is crucial. Use it.

Just DPS through the guards IMO

If you're really having a hard time and just want to get through, you *could* just run the mission. It doesn't really take much skill at all since the sunspear survivors you're dragging along with you are all monks. Just give them a breather after every group (or 2 groups), and hug the north/west wall until you reach Magrid. You don't even need to bring Koss along for the run (just flag him at the beginning). And as long as you and at least one of the sunspear survivors get to Magrid, you finish the mission.
Also, a running skill for yourself would be nice, but you don't have to be running continuously; use it to ditch aggro on a group after you ran past them. A selfheal would also be nice, but nothing major, the survivors will heal you if you stop and let them do it.

If you just want to complete the quest, hug the walls. Either the northern (top) or southern (bottom) walls are pretty easy. You just encounter 2-3 garrisons.
If you can not kill the garrisons fast enough - I guess we really need to see your build and hench/hero choices (build on heroes also). You either need to call targets differently, or you build doesn't have enough damage per second (DPS). This quest should be quite easy to just complete.
A good PvE rule - kill anything killing you, anything preventing you from killing something killing you - kill it first. In this case - priests, scribes, guards/zealots, seers, and bowmen are typically how I take them out. Scribes and guards may swap depending on how many and how much my hench/hero are kiting instead of doing their thing. Seers can drain to much energy if there are too many raising their priority. However - if you follow the initial advice then it will take care of that (and it may change based on your team).
As for general build advice - can not say much without seeing yours. focus on three lines, four at most and have good reason. Think about how you and your heroes interact, try and get something that works well together (for instance - no reason to bring along a monk specced towards helping melee characters if you have few melee characters). One superior and the rest minor - if you are not using a attribute line the use a vitae or attunement (personally, vitae as if the attunement are making a difference you need to look at your energy management).
I'm in a goofing off period now so I can somewhat help if needed. I'm nearly a 100% hench/hero player (I can number the times I have grouped through all three games on one hand), so I may not be the greatest. Anyway - PM "Isis the Red" or one of my alts (your friends list should list them) and I'll see what I can do. No promises, I may suck
