Hi Everyone,
Over the last few weeks I have gotten the "repairing data archive" a LOT more than usual. Before the last few weeks, I got one, when my computer got corrupted while playing. But now, I get it once every couple of days, sometimes twice a day, and whenever I try the -image function.
I have used Contig and it says the file is as contiguous as possible.
The only possible contention other than the fact that my computer is aging, is that my memory (RAM) is causing the problem. I upgraded from 512 (2x256) to 1.25 gigs (1x 1gb 1x old 256). The memory sticks are supposed to work together, and my computer is not set up for dual channeling anyways (not that having it would really effect it, I would just be losing out). Perhaps if I remove the 256 stick then I will see this problem go poof? Or is it something more sinister lurking in the background?

Run scans for spyware, viruses since these have a tendency to cause file corruption.
Update your video drivers if you haven't already
Try repairing your installation uninstall and reinstall, if that doesn't work, have a friend that has GW burn you a DVD with the Gw.dat file if he can and replace the one you have on your computer by the one you friend gave you (this fixed my repairing data archive problems).
There are probably some other solutions but these are the ones i can thinnk of right now.
